No, I know that and I actually thought of Steven Tyler (who still has an amazing voice too) but I was pointing out that sometimes age could be a factor. Is it with Jon? Who knows whther it's age or smoking etc.? It could be their rather rigorous touring schedule and the amount of performances they've done over the years. After all, they've done four major tours in the past six years....which is more than anybody in the business has toured

When I saw Aerosmith in '04, Tyler didn't sound very good at all.
I'm not sure if this is normal, or maybe we just caught him on a bad night.

FOR ME, it's nothing about age. The man could still hold it on in the Destination Anywhere tour, just look the screams and even Janie (he couldn't sing it right nowadays), that was 97/98. Than, he came back with Real Life and Crush and gave us vocals like Thank You For Loving Me and an incredible weak live voice. WTF ?

Maybe something happened during the band hiatus that we don't know about. But yes during Crash and Bounce era his vocals were bad. Now he's getting better and better.

This is not AGE. Look the "clean" and powerfull voice (with "open-mouth") he had back in 1998:
- Blood on Blood:
- Livin' on a prayer:
- Let it rain:
Now look he using the nasal voice as the unique and emergency way to "sing properly" his own songs. Such a weak vocal just 2 years later.
- Keep the Faith:
- Thank your for loving me:

Whether its age, the smoking or the extensive touring doesnt really matter. When you're the singer in a succesful band, you have to keep training and maintaining your voice so that you can sing both new and old songs at a live concert.

I admired James LaBrie from Dream Theater when I heard an interview with him some time ago - how much he did to keep his voice in training, its unbelievable. Now... he's just 1 year younger than Jon Bon Jovi and daaaamn can he still hit those high notes, even at live shows. He had a bad vocal period some years ago but focused and tried real hard training his voice so its now back on track. I'm sure Jon could do the same, if he felt like it. My opinion is that he obviously dont.

Of course not. It obviously has nothing to do with physical differences or anything like that. The only possibly conclusion is that JBJ doesn't care about his voice. Yep. You sure figured that one out.

Default Jon's powerful 80s voice

Hi friends!
i'll tell you that it's not age....it's becoz of his smoking..he has been smoking since 1994.
I think you forgot he used to have 4 octaves coz as a singer myself i'll tell u that he hit D6 (falsetto) in 'i'll be there for you..he hit E6(start of da flageolet register) in "homebound Train' & "living in sin."
Da highest he ever went was in da new jersey demo "let's make it baby."He hits a G6# 1661,23 hertz...I've never come across a rock singer who went as high as a soprano G6 in falsetto(for men) These were during da new jersey era..
In da 1990s KTF era onwards he still uses his high falsetto in concerts but not as much as he did in da late 80s.

Da? Are you Russian?

It's spelled "the".
