I know I'm alone here, but couldn't honestly care less about a solo record from Richie. I wasn't as ga-ga as most here about his solo stuff. As for Jon, I'd buy it, but wouldn't hold my breath for it. DA had a couple of decent tracks, but he goes in a direction I don't care for when he does his own thing. I don't count YGII as a real solo record, as he'd never do anything that good for a non-soundtrack.

Personally, I wish he'd just the hell up about being "exhausted". The guy doesn't realize how lucky he is. Newsflash Jon - Everyone on this board that has a job works just as hard (and longer hours) than you do. We don't all bitch and moan and mope around about it though. That's life. At least you have a choice. Traveling got you tired? Take a friggin' nap on the plane. I wish I could lie down on the floor in my office and take a snooze.

Oh my god.. the end is coming

It's because The Circle bombed in the US, that's the reason.

Best regards,

When The Circle tour was announced as the biggest/longest in recent years, extending it with the GHII, the hiatus could be foreseen. They have been on the road, with very short breaks for quite some time now. I think that they will benefit a great deal from their time apart, although that doesn't mean that as individuals will sit at a beach for a couple years, they will work on their own projects and they won't go "away", I bet there will be plenty reminders of who they are.

I think this isn't the "i'm short on my sleep" kind of tired. More like the "I just can't wrap my head around packing my suitcase and getting on another plane" kind of tired.
Give the guy a break, he knows how lucky he is, for ****s sake he says so like every other interview. I think Jon can't win in this situation. If he fakes it, puts on the pro smile, says the "right" thing, then he's an insincere prick and a liar, but if he's honest, and admits that he's burnt out a bit, that he's having trouble focusing etc... well then he doesn't know how lucky he is, he'sa whiny baby , he should just shut up and sing or whatever.
Personally, I think this was one record and one tour too many. I get why he said yes and why he did it but maybe they should have just let the Circle songs be songs that "got away". And FTR, I'm a fan of the Circle, I really like this record.

Agreed with every word you said. It's impossible to compare our jobs to Jon's simply because unless we all travel x amount of days a year, it's not the same. I firmly believe the quality of the album had little to do with how the public received it. Everyone's burnt out on the band, including the band.

right, being "travelling salesman" is not like any other, regular job. We do work, but most of us come back home after work. In case of a touring musician there is not such thing like coming back home. And he has to live this nomadic life for long weeks.

We do not know how it affects Jon's/guys' health and psyche. But it must be quite hard

They need a break. It isnīt easy to travel so much as they do, even when they use best planes and hotels. They want to be with their familys too.
Canīt wait to see them in summer I hope they will do some solo stuff and come back very soon.

Then they should stop doing it. Sorry, but I find it hard to feel sorry for a guy who makes more money in 1 night, than I'll make in my life. You want to talk about a touring band - Look at the Goo Goo Dolls. Those crazy bastards play 200 show tours. Their albums don't sell crap anymore, but it doesn't make them say "Ah jeez - I'm exhausted. No more tours for a while after this."

This is what they do. Obviously, he's got every right to do whatever the hell he pleases. I'm just saying, I'm not about to feel sorry for the guy.

noone, including Jon, wants you to be sorry. When Jon says he is exhausted he only states the fact. For me it was more like information than like moaning.

The thing is though, I can't understand how he can feel exhausted. I really can't. He mentions how he travels a lot, has to sleep in hotels and everything, yet his touring schedule leaves a lot of room for off time. Just look at the official touring schedule that started this February.

February: 8 shows
March: 16 shows
April: 14 shows
May: 4 shows
June: 15 shows
July: 13 shows
August: Time off
September: 3 shows
October: 4 shows
November: 1 show
December: 8 shows
January: Time off

So that's 84 shows in 1 year, meaning he has roughly 2/3 of the year off. Or even if you want to exaggerate 1/3 of the year off. And he complains about being tired? Most people have about 3 weeks off per year. Jon is just not used to working anymore, and has no clue of what the working man he sings about is going through. He sleeps in beds and rooms on day to day basis in hotels while most people don't even have that luxury at home. Sure, it gets lonely but **** it, for 250.000 dollars per show I wouldn't be complaining. And if it's so hard, don't ****ing do it.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan
