On the second North American leg they played 38 shows of which roughly 10 shows had minor surprises. And whenever they mixed it up a bit in North America it just meant stuff like Radio being dropped buy Bounce being played. That's not really mixing it up to me.

The entire North American Tour was a tour which had close to zero effort from the band and most of it was done on auto pilot. Even the more special shows.

And just to compare; on the European leg they did 22 shows of which 15 shows were special.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

I feel bad for Australia too because they haven't seen a proper show since 1995.

I think it has alot more to do with the audiences in the US, though , than it does with the effort of the band. The average audience here in the US wants the hits, all of them. Jon can sneak in maybe one deep record cut and it will go over but much more than that and audiences are scratching their heads.
Jon was right when he said audiences in the US know choruses and European fans know songs, which is why eEuropean shows have a much more variety in setlists than in the US.

Perth got a Dullsville set as you'd pretty much expect but Sydney got a couple of decent shows IIRC. Not nearly as good as what was to come later, but still pretty good (Excellent by the standards to that point!).

New Jersey and Japan got really screwed.

Nah it was the original version with Bobby doing the guitar solo. The second Sydney show had a great setlist too.
Highlights were: Great Balls Of Fire, Wild In The Streets, Story Of My Life, Knocking On Heavens Door, Blood On Blood (Played with acoustic intro), Saturday Night and Never Say Goodbye (acoustic versions) and Land Of 1000 Dances In the Sleep Medley. They played for close to three hours aswell!!

Oh okay, I always thought that it would be performed the TLFR way on the platform.

I still don't get why everybody hates it when Richie sings IBTFY. He kicks the shit out of Jon on that song, and I think that they should let Richie do mor ethan one song.
