right, thing is jons voice is nothing special. saying its a 'unique' voice is entirely down to you, its not an opinion its just how you listen to it

i can take 30 bands i listen to, say i listen to 30 bands over, no more, no less in about 3 weeks. if then at the end of that time NEW songs from those bands came on i could tell you who is singing what.

it just depends how much detail you listen to something.

when anyone of those artists comes on i (me personally) knows its them, not by the song but by the vocals.

its all down to how you listen to a song and how much you actually take in and notice about thier vocals/breathing techniques.

If you listen to a new artist over and over you would recognise there voice , maybe, their voice would be good but easy to mimic ,whether you like Jons voice or think its out of tune it still cant be mimicked, this is what makes it unique.

I can listen to an new song or bootleg Ive never heard and tell whether its Jon straight away.

dawn you said its unique cos u know its him, im saying that any artist is the same depending on how in detail you listen to it so thats rules out one point.

the 2nd is you said jons voice cant be mimicked, im saying neither can most artists i mean sure TONS of bands sound the same but in the list or artists i listed i cant name anyone that could do a set sounding the same. those artists have shall we say 'obvious' vocals. and thats what your saying about jons.

Yes. The singer of a German BJ-coverband sounds very much like Jon. When you don't see him and just hear him singing you think it's the original in earlier years. He sings some older BJ-songs better than Jon does nowadays.

That Kon Chauvi guy? Or a different German cover band?

I think she means the Kon Chauvi guy, and yes he sounds very much like Jon for German people. However, when someone from outside Germany hears a German singer singing in English he/she'll think it sounds weird, just because of the accent. Though the sound of the voice itself comes very close indeed.

if you cant mimic a singer then this surely would make the singer unique.

For example Freddie Mercury was a good singer but quite a few people mimic him, just like Elvis , most singers can be mimmicked, they are still good singers but their voices are not unique as they can be mimicked so easily.

VOCALLY i know some poeple that could mimic jon, not for a 3 hours gig but for a minute or two yes.

i really dont understand your point dawn cos in all truthfullness all i can see is your trying to say jons voice is amazing in some other way but like other artists it can be mimic in short skteches or for short periods and you know its him when u hear it.

right, fair enough...but what is your point? this is just another silly thread
