Well, each to their own I guess. I just really think the music, the lyrics, the whole song is just so, uhm, not Richie and not even Bon Jovi come to that. It's like the worst of cheesy 80's soft rock possible (as, say, opposed to the best of cheesy early 90's soft rock - so okay lol, maybe its not that different taken in that context) but it really does sound like a cast-off from Bon Jovi or Fahrenheit, rather than NJ which I think it was an outtake from, and not as good as any of the songs on those albums. Just sounds more like a Motley Crue song or something than a Bon Jovi song.

Tough call. Stranger is more of a complete album but Santa Fe, Miracle, Blaze of Glory and Dyin' Aint Much Of A Living are some of my favorite Bon Jovi related songs ever (solo or not). Santa Fe especially is, in my opinion, Jon's peak as a singer. Stranger, though, I can listen to all the way through, something I have trouble with on Young Guns. I'd probably rank them about equal but, if forced to choose, take Young Guns II simply because I prefer Jon as a singer to Richie.

US vs DA though is no contest. Destination Anywhere is infinitely superior. I don't like Undiscovered Soul much at all. Isn't really a rock album barring Made In America.

Although Jon's solo album has it's moments (Billy Get Your Guns, Miracle, Santa Fe and Blaze Of Glory) it doesn't really sound like a complete album like Stranger In This Town does. It has no real flow, unlike Stranger In This Town, which is a complete album from start to finish. Plus it features better guitar work and stunning vocals in every song and it has Clapton on it, which is no competition to Jeff Beck.

The way you compared the tracks to eachother doesn't really make sense though. Sure, there'll follow a few replies in which people tell you they will prefer Billy Get Your Guns over Rosie or the other way around, but in the end it doesn't make sense at all.

So yes, Stranger In This Town is the better one for me.

Agreed. Stranger has some slightly unorthodox songs that I think you have to really listen to - not just have playing while working or whatever, but the quality beats Blaze.

Blaze has some really good songs:Santa Fe , Miracle , Blaze Of Glory etc But Stranger over Blaze anyday.

Plus if Richie had put some of the great demos for Stranger on the album(It would have been even stronger)Maybelline , Broken Promises , If i cant have your love.

Stranger, no doubt. It's one of my all time fave albums, and I can't say that about Blaze (DA or US either, for that matter).

It still surprises me though, when people say they don't like 'Rosie'. That IS my fave Richie track.

I prefer US to Stranger - it's more listenable I feel - and it has that fabulous (IMO) title track.

No it wouldn't. A song like If I Can't Have Your Love is not supposed to be on an album like that. Stranger In This Town is good because it's exactly what it is.
