Call me crazy, but you guys are sure making a lot out of one crappy interview. Don't get me wrong, I agree with this entire BJ are losing their passion thing, but you can't really pass judgement until the new album comes out. It is all a waiting game at this point, with tons of speculation in between of course.

BECKY WROTE : I like most of Bounce better than most of SWW, so I don't need a throwback to the "good old days."

instead of you I NEED A THROWBACK TO THE "GOOD OLD DAYS"

does anyone or any board have a transcript of the interview ????

Cant believe so many people are making so much of the words he says in an interview. When Jon or any of BJ gives up music, Im sure we will know about it.

As for his burning passion in music, it will always be there, whether its there to the same extent after 20 years is unlikely.
If you ate strawberry icecream every day for 20 years would you still feel as intense about it, no, your going to have days, weeks, months where you think uh strawberry icecream :P

BON JOVI TURNED HIS BACK ON HOLLYWOOD

Rocker JON BON JOVI credits his decision not to move to Hollywood at the beginning of his career for keeping him grounded and his group still together.

The IT'S MY LIFE star briefly flirted with Tinseltown in the early 1980s and admits he almost moved there until he realised that applying make-up for club shows wasn't really for him.

He says, "Hollywood's not for me and playing the game out there, which adds value to your ticket - if you want to sell your soul, it's short term and it never appealed to me.

"I saw through it as a kid and came back east."

Bon Jovi still lives in New Jersey, where he grew up.

-------------------------------------------------------------

BUSINESSMAN BON JOVI LOVES THE LADIES

Rocker JON BON JOVI insists on surrounding himself with women when he's making new business deals - because they're smarter than men.

The LIVING ON A PRAYER hitmaker admits women have a better head for business and he'd always employ a female over a male with similar skills and qualifications.

He explains, "From my mother to my sister to my wife to my daughter, everyone of them is more logical in their decision making than any guy I've ever been around."

-------------------------------------------------------------

BON JOVI TURNED TO SUPER BOWL COACH FOR FOOTBALL ADVICE

Rocker JON BON JOVI called on three-time SUPER BOWL-winning coach BILL BELICHICK when he needed advice about starting up an American football franchise - because he didn't know anything about the business side of the sport.

Bon Jovi, a co-owner of Arena Football League newcomers PHILADELPHIA SOUL, called NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS coach Belichick for tips on where to get equipment and players when he was starting up the team three years ago (02).

He says, "We don't have a staff of NFL (NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE) people (while) 10 of the 19 teams in our league are owned by the (DENVER) BRONCOS and the (DALLAS) COWBOYS and so on.

"We don't have an affiliation, so I don't have a personnel department. (When I started) I didn't have a shoulder pad; I had an idea.

"I had to ask Bill about, 'How do I get shoulder pads?' - really silly questions... The learning curve was quick. It was dramatic."

Bon Jovi's Soul have already become one of the most successful franchises in the Arena Football League.

-------------------------------------------------------------

BON JOVI WANTS SCHWARZENEGGER FOR PRESIDENT

Rocker JON BON JOVI insists he would turn his back on his left-wing political beliefs and vote Republican if pal ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER ever ran for US President.

The LIVING ON A PRAYER hitmaker is a staunch Democrat, who performed at rallies for JOHN KERRY as he fought to defeat PRESIDENT GEORGE W BUSH in the presidential election last November (04).

But he wouldn't hesitate in supporting the action man-turned-California Governor if the Austrian-born superstar was ever given the OK to run for office in the White House.

He says, "I would vote for him right now. I've known him a long time. I think he's a brilliant man, on and off the camera, and he's the most hard-working man, the most focused I've ever seen.

"He knows more about our country, having come to this country as an Austrian, than a lot of people who have never been to our Statue of Liberty.

"Forget the history concept, he understands what it is to come from nothing and he knows very well what it is to have everything... He came and worked as a construction worker in Santa Monica. I think he had a well-rounded background.

"I've been in a room with him and talk about people that light up a room. I think world leaders are gonna come to see him the same way."

-------------------------------------------------------------

BON JOVI: 'WE COULD ROCK FOREVER'

BON JOVI are set to be the next ROLLING STONES - rocking in their 60s - because frontman JON BON JOVI insists his band have passed the point where they could split.
Is the below from the same interview people are talking about in this thread ? Because if it is then he doesnt sound like he is giving up his music for a very long time. Dawn

The rocker is planning a lengthy run with bandmates TICO TORRES, RICHIE SAMBORA and DAVID BRYAN because the quartet are too mature to break up.

He says, "All the trials and tribulations of youth and money and success and having hit records and then failures as records we're all through that.

I encourage my band to go and do whatever they want. If they wanna make solo records or do whatever, I encourage them because you're bringing more information back to the fold."

Me...yeah I'd be upset...this is Bon Jovi after all...my favorite band for forever!! But sadly it's not our choice. They have to do what they have to do. Maybe they're tired of the lifestyle...they're settled with families and new, quieter interests. Hopefully we'll always have a new album to look forward to every couple of years but someday we may not. I say just enjoy it while it's here, and enjoy other things as well.
I agree with you totally .. but if Jon is not happy in the music anymore if he doesn't have the fire inside anymore this is sad but I cannot do anything to change it so if jon is tired he can stop they have to do what they have to do !!! YES ! but i 'd rather have a great band who stopped with an honorable 20 years of success better than a band that keep on doing it with no more faith no more fire inside no more passion ... music is a form of art you have to be inspired and commited if not it won't be good ..if it's a cd that has to be done to honor a contract and no fun or enjoyement it's just sad
oh la la sorry I am rambling ...but I want to say that I am enjoying the tone here .we can be civil on dry county I heard and I admit even said not very nice things... it's not true this board is cool ...
I agree with you too Mimi It's nice to hear other opinions...on other boards. I like Backstage and waited until the HORROR of the Backstage/Dry County drama died down to actually start posting here but I've lurked for awhile.
Anyway..just wanted to post back to you

I take back what I said about Jon being rather "blah" through the whole interview. I recorded it for someone else yesterday and he actually perked up when he was talking about his family.

Flawed example there. Sure, Jon and Richie do not have "four kids all hungry, one on the way", but neither are they "two paychecks away from living out on the street"

I know what you mean Seb .. no kidding it was just that none of the 2 songs talk about real facts in Jon's life ...but RSOW is just a total fiction

I am so nostalgic today ... I feel like I could cry ....VH1 europe is having a BON JOVI DAY .... we got 90's videos and now 80's videos ALL BON JOVI .. all I can say is that even if some are really videos those were the GOOD DAYS ....

WHEN are we gonna get a NEW BON JOVI VIDEO ? even if it's about Right Side Of Wrong it was still something .... we were able to love it or hate it be vocal about it ... today we have nothing just time to argue about how we miss the past .... a lil or a lot ... but at the end of the day we still miss it right ? Jon doesn't feel like he is still enjoying it ... too bad for me ...
