As usual, it seems Becky needs to provide the voice of knowledgeable reason on this topic.
Everything good is due to the rest of the band's influence on Jon.
Everything you don't like is because Jon is Satan.
Jon should do whatever he wants to do. His job is not to perform for his fans according to their whims and desires like a puppet on a string. The argument that he could lose some fans if he doesn't spew out exactly what they want exactly when they want it is clearly something he's OK with.
Tico, Dave and Hugh most certainly have a say in what an album sounds like - they don't show up and play their parts as charted by Jon. Jon and Richie may have more of a hand in it but hello... it's not Saddam Bon Jovi. The regime is not so iron-clad - although that certainly makes it much easier for some of you to demonize Jon.

Richie has taken his time with his solo projects and that's contributed to the schedule of BJ albums..
Jon has taken his time, not just with acting, but with wearing the QuarterBack title and choosing not to navigate a new hip-hop record label before he was confortable Bon Jovi would be properly worked..

The band is a BAND - and unless we're sitting in the studio or in a hotel room or backstage with them and have a clue as to what really goes on, how the **** do we know? And what gives us the right to presume anything? It's not even complaining from the sidelines at a game we're not playing... it's yelling at the TV screen watching a 5 hour delay of a game we don't understand.

Yes. The title "Janie Don't Take Your Love to Town" is a ripoff of a Kenny Rogers song "Ruby Don't Take Your Love to Town" so the chorus brings an otherwise great song down.
