Teachers in many schools in the UK get petrol money for the commute to work. They did in the schools I worked in.
you either worked in nice schools then, or things have changed a lot. Both my parents and my auntie are teachers, but they don't get paid petrol money...

if my dad had to go to a conference say in town then he gets paid petrol money for that, but not just for commuting to and from work

I'd love to know which schools they were. I've worked for years in teaching personnel for various local authorities, and there's no way teaching staff would have been paid for travelling to work: it's public money you're talking about. So which authority did you work for?

At the risk of going against what the Society for the protection of KRB stands for, I have to say this:

No offense, KRB, but any school that lets you near children is a screwed-up mess anyway...

In Finland you get tax refunds for your trips to the work and back if the trip is long enough...

I only did it to stay in uiversity for an extra year and receive 6000 pounds from the kind government. It's like being payed for being a student for an extra year. (A very hard working year though).

And to stay on topic, I got my bus fares paid for by the school.

No.

I forgot to add, while I was being payed to take the course, along with 99% of the other people taking it, there was one American who had to PAY to do the course. She had to pay roughly the same amount as everyone else was getting paid.

HAHAHAHA.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

I think we should sue Jon for giving us two crap albums in a row.

Why can't I have a hug?!?!

And I agree on the albums thing. OWN and Bounce were waaaaaaaaaaaaay below what I was expecting, but, incase you don't count OWN as a legitimate release (as many don't) Then I disagree about Crush. Not their best, but certainly not their worst.

And hey, let's be fair!
It's not just Jon that's to blame...SUE THEM ALL!
And stop being nasty to Americans- They can't help it!

Love
Laura

P.S. Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease can I have a hug? Just a quick hug? Or a peck on the cheek if you'd prefer?
