What should he say, "the new record that's partly mine" or what? He can say whatever he wants to.

People should be judged by what they do not by what they say.

And Jon's real life doings show he is far from being an egomaniac. Being egotistic while performing is merely his shtick. That's what he does while he is "on stage".

It doesn't bother me for him to say "My record" when none of the other guys are with him at that time. He could be saying, "This is our record" and there's bound to be people saying, "who's our?" But if people are going to get picky then he can't get it right either way. It's just stupid.

It's at times, like up on stage, if Jon's saying things about his record that I think is quite offensive.

Okay, I see saying "OUR new record" would have sounded pretty stupid... But no wonder people later call the group Jon Bon Jovi...

If you used "OUR" about everything you ever had in conjunction with another human being, people might start to think you had split personalities.

I think you are confusing material things you are using with work you yourself or as a team have created. I agree with the above - there is nothing wrong with them.

However, I work in a team and when we work on a project, I would never ever refer to it as MY project, it is ours (provided we ALL work on it). I have projects I work on by myself - those are my projects. It is very important if you work in a team to acknowledge the other members input and achievements, not only yours. Anyone, in my group that would say MY project, when it is really OURS wouldn't go far - careerwise. On the other hand, I have files, I keep, but they are to be used by anyone who needs them, I call them MY FILES, even though they are not my property, but by doing so I am not offending anyone or neglect their contributions.

Does this prove that Jon has a big ego? I think it takes more than that. Like many stated, everyone has said/done something that came out wrong.

However,

In this case, I think he should have said "our record", "the band's record" and not "my record". I don't think people will think that Jon has got split personlities, who would be stupid to think that? so Jon says "our" record and the reporter think he has got a split personility? it's plain to see that Jon means the band. Do I think that he said that because he has got a huge ego? no but just something he said and he doesn't think about it, I have heard Jon talk before like that.

I have also heard the other members talk like that was well. Apart from his solo records, I haven't seen Richie write any songs on his own but when Richie is interviewed and talking about writing songs, there are songs where he will say "I" wrote such and such and you know that he never wrote them on his own.

If the entire band had been at the radio station, then he should have said "our album". But they weren't all there. People, don't read so much into things like this. It was mentioned before that Jon is the one with the contract and the band are his employees. In that case, it would be ok for Jon to say that TLFR is his album.

Um, I hate to have to explain this, but it was a JOKE to emphasize the stupidity of being "offended" that Jon called the record "MY" record. See, there's that little laughing face next to it. That means it's a joke.

If I were serious I would have called it dissociative identity disorder because referring to DID as "multiple personalities" is incorrect and one of my pet peeves.
