Default Jon's Live Covers

I was watching 30 Seconds To Mars during the I-Heart Radio festival and they delivered a beautiful cover of Rihanna's "Stay"

It would be nice to see Jon take a modern song, cover it, and make it his own. He was once the King of that back in the day but when he does "Old Time R&R" it just makes him look dated. That is a song old people dance to at weddings.

Hallelujah was his last one that had some passion but that was 6 years ago already. I'm talking more current and relevant.

Hey, Mr. Most Knowledgeable Bon Jovi Fan In The World, Jon's covered Mercy a lot, and that was a new song (in 200. He had Rhianna on stage with the band. He's done a lot of stuff like that, even in the recent years.

And I'd hate for him to cover any of this dance crap. Old time rock'n'roll is a much better way for a rock band.

I think RDkopper is trying to tell us that Jon should start twerking.

When he did Mercy, he's shaking his ass for a quick minute. I'm talking a serious cover. Like Halleljuah.

Even if he took the lyrics to a rap song and turned it into acoustic rock, I think that would be cool. Did you watch the 30 STM performance? Its brilliant

I think rd booper somehow thinks making another account will suddenly revoke his ban.

It's not like Old Time Rock'n Roll is a full song either. It's still a cover.

No, I don't like Rihanna nor do I like 30STM. But I know what you mean. It's been done to death, take a "party" song, slow it down and somehow it becomes poignant. Well, guess what? It's still a bad song, and like I said, it's been done to death. I'd prefer the band take some forgotten classics like they did in the 80s and 90s and cover those. Drift Away, Shooting Star, We Gotta Get Out Of This Place and such. That's good music. Rihanna isn't.

I hate covers. I want to hear Bon Jovi songs at a Bon Jovi concert.

Even though I don't share the opinion, I agree that BJ has enough songs to make a 50 song set without the need of any covers.
On the other hand, there are some songs that they used to cover that are all time favorites for me, so I'd love to hear them (Midnight Rider, Shooting Star). Anyway, I think most covers are a slot wasted for another BJ song.

If they could make one of those songs better then I would be all for it. But I don't thin k Jon wants to spend that much time on a song he didn't write and doesn't feel passionate about. Though it would be awesome to get a song from a band that hates them like the offspring or Green Day and cover it better to kind of take all the irony they could.

But like I said, it would never happen....
