Jovi Bashing has to stop please

This website is becoming a joke these days.
The name should be changed to Jovibashing.com

I cant believe that we have heard 3 songs from a possible 13 or 14 and some of you somehow know what the album will sound like. I think that most like the 3 we have heard so far. WWBTF is causing some debate and that’s fine as its been heard.
You cant tell what a song will sound like for 100% without hearing it and going by the title. OK you can maybe pick out a ballad. But how many thought that If I Was Your Mother would be as heavy as it is by the title for example? you didn’t.

Guns N Roses have a song called My Michelle – ballad right? Wrong.

Why don’t you wait until November give the album a few spins then make your judgement.

Jon has said it will be a big rock record so until we hear it we have to believe him.
We have even had Ritchie re-record the solo that WWBTF desperately needed.

If you hear the album and don’t like it then feel free to post your annoyance but don’t start bashing the band before its even been heard.

It has been a joke for a couple of years now. Thanks to certain people. Gone are the good old days.

And even after that, there will still be someone, who whines about the same damn thing. We´ve seen the dozens "if you don't like new stuff, why are you still here"-posts.

Keep going straight on, turn left when you hit the old Woolworths, keep going to the traffic lights, cross the road, take a walk down that little alley, when you've passed through there take another right and then you'll see backstagewithjbj - you can't miss it.

The posts about 'this forums going to shit' are as annoying as the stupid posts slagging off the band. Everything will settle down once the circle is released but until then, no-one is going to be able to give a valid opinion seen as they haven't heard the album yet.

This website hasn't become a joke because of the people who bash Bon Jovi but because of the people who fail to understand why people bash Bon Jovi, or are incapable to take in any critisism others have over their favourite band, and therefore start pointless insulting topics or post pointless replies to those people they don't like.

It's also because of the attention span of the newbies being no longer than 3 replies which results in them not being able to follow a discussion at all, but just posting their opinion, being quoted and then having the feeling that they're insulted because someone questions their theory.

That's why this messageboard is shit nowadays. Not because of the bashing, if that were true they could've shut it down right away because it's been a lot, lot worse, yet many people prefereed this place 5 years ago over Backstage because over here they could voice their disappointment in this band. This place used to be so much fun, and that was during the Bounce era, an era where the album was the worst in years, a tour that had terrible vocals from Jon and a setlist that was terribly predictable. Yet people took it in and actually bothered to join the debates instead of posting insults as in "You can't be a fan, I'm a real fan etcetera..."

So p34semm, if you don't enjoy reading critisism based upon previous actions from Bon Jovi, as in the "this is a real rock record", login to Backstage. I'm sure many people over there will actually believe anything Jon says.

I'm not about to jump in with criticism of an album I haven't heard BUT...

There are certain things that bug me about it and I have mentioned them before.

WWBTF - already been discussed to death, I have an indifferent feeling towards it but if a 'monster solo' is now included, it may just become a good track.

WFTWM - the riff is almost identical to LOAP and IMO it's lyrically stunted.

'Superman Tonight' and 'Fast Cars' - the songs may be musically brilliant but I fail to see how the lyrics will be with titles like that.

I choose to ignore any bashing of the band I don't think is called for and just read topics that either steer clear of it or involve constructive criticism and good discussion on the hopes and fears of the imminent new release. Starting topics about it is silly though. There's bound to be tension with less than two months till it's out!

ive been dissapointed with the last few releases but you never know - this album could be great........then again it might not!

Hey, don't they deserve for such opinion after couple dissapointed albums? Now, it's their turn. It's their time to proove that they can still rock and shut critic's mouth. But right now, sorry, why should everybody pretend that everything's ok?

im not a member of the blind faith brigade and Ill moan if I dont like something...but not without hearing it first.

I've been reading messages on this site for years, but never got in on the posting until recently (and still don't post a lot yet). I've always enjoyed reading the posts here because it was nice to hear that I wasn't the only fan out there disappointed by an album/song/concert/whatever...it was getting annoying to read other boards where love-sick fans yammered on, at length, about what wonderful records the last few have been, while I was sitting there going "um, I think they're pathetic, uninspired and shitty...embarassing, frankly...but ok".
That said, I have to agree that some of the posts here do get a little ridiculous. Speculating about how the album is going to be before hearing it (based on track titles and a couple songs heard) is fine, just for fun...but the people who have already decided that the album is going to be shit are just plain silly. Let's wait til November and give it a chance. I'll admit I'm not optimistic after nearly a decade of Crush (a few good songs, but overall bad album), Bounce (horrible, start to finish), TLFR (makes me want to kill myself), HAND (bad and lame, minus a few good songs). I admit, I actually do, for the most part, like Lost Highway, though I know many others here don't...(I understand why you don't, but after Crush, Crush part 2 (Bounce) and Crush part 3 (HAND) I was thrilled to get something different - and I did think that a few of the songs showed some good lyric strength and good songwriting for a change - WLOL, for example)

Anyway - sorry that was long...just saying, I think what makes this board great is that "bashing" is allowed. The boards that do nothing but dole out love and never question the band when the release shitty music are just annoying. I think the real/best fans are the ones who crave quality and want the band to live up to their potential.
