I have seen Have a Nice Day 3 times in the past week on 3 different music channels. I was also saying to my fiancee who isnt a Jovi fan, that im surprised she likes it and remembers it from '05, and she explained it was quite a big song, even through the eyes of a non jovi-er.

There's two chapters in the band's career, 1983-1996, 2000-present

Of course their current music isn't a patch on the 1983-1996 period, I'd have assumed anyone would have got that. But alas this board seems to be littered with Moronic tits.

ostrachise, ostrachise, ostrachise, ostrachise.

Yeah - Littered with moronic tits because we don't share your opinion.

And for the record, I'm not saying Bon Jovi are a bigger band than U2. I don't think anyone believes that. However, what this thread is pointing out is why U2 is a bigger band (and certainly, not by much). As for better, that's subjective. And the subjectivity of most people seems to be that they are overrated.

So my point remains valid, U2 are bigger. Thanks for clearing that up.

As for your other comments on being subjective, THIS IS A BON JOVI MESSAGE BOARD! how else would you think the opinions on who's better would pan out?

I think Bon Jovi are better, wow, wheres my party hat so I can join this love in?

No one ever disagreed with that. We disagreed with everything else you said though as to reasons why U2 are bigger (the transvestites thing the first thing that springs to mind right now). That didn't make sense when you said a few posts earlier and now, after all the stuff you've thrown in to get your point across it still doesn't make any sense. You're only making your own points weaker and weaker and everytime someone makes it obvious you start throwing around insults, which again, is a sign of weakness.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

My transvestite reference was to point out that Bon Jovi are deemed by a lot of people as cheesy, this is mostly down to the way they dressed in the 80's. U2 didn't dress outlandishly, I feel that has a huge part to play as to why a lot of people dismiss Bon Jovi as a band devoid of substance without even listening to the music. U2 are far more accessible due to the "cool" factor.

My other point that It's my Life was the last hit was totally valid, since then there's been singles that may have been hits in some countries (WSYCGH) but on a worldwide scale It's my life is the last real big hit. If the band play a three song set these days we'll hear, LOP, Current single, It's my life.

As for the insults, It's only font kids.

WSYCGH was #1 in the US and #5 in the UK.

For being an 80s band, they get enough airplay. You know, Bon Jovi is not a trendy act anymore.

U2 never lost their credibility and sold out like BJ did after TD. And let us be honest: Whos takes BJ seriously anymore ? Were they ever taken seriously ?
Well since they were probably the biggest band in the world in 1995, I'm gonna say yes.
