I don't think it's rude at all. Mercury Germany should think about they're going to say. There are many people looking forward to this boxset, saying something like that is sure to increase expectation. I can see what the Oompas mean. They've probably got tons of similar questions just because someone decided to give away a fake date! And they're not saying anything offensive to them - just stating how matters stand.

What was actually said about the band members falling out?

Is it anything to do with the "Kerry" campaign?

Why would Kerry affect the band? Jon and Richie both made appearances for Gore and it didn't upset the apple cart.

do not really care whether jbj puts a solo record out right now because it won't just happen!

I think it is very easy and cheap to release a cover song as a single. Lots of teenage bands are doing that nowadays. I prefer an original new song written by the band themselves!
