Just a question

hi all - i'm new - have read posts for a while but now desided to post myself......

I'm just wondering if anyone shares the same opinion as me: 'Always'

i've read polls and such and its many many fans' favourite song and that its beautiful etc...

without insulting anyone's opinion i was just wondering why this is. Personally i have never liked the song - the tune is wonderful but i really dislike the lyrics and the general meaning of the song (cheating rat sees his ex with someone else and decides he wants her back and he loves her blah blah). The sentiment in the chorus is great but i really dislike the 'story' behind it. I was just wondering if anyone thinks this like i do or maybe its just me i dont know?

The sentiment expressed in the chorus does it for me. This song is my favorite and I can't see that fact changing.

I've always thought it to be a little overated. I mean it's a good ballad with plenty of power in it but I prefer Bed of Roses, Livin' in Sin and TAALS.

I hate the song. Its the only Jovi song I actually hate.

I don't really know... I hate when people say that they think the song is so beautiful and fitting. The song is about a stalker! I can't relate the two subjects at all!!

It's NOT about a stalker! First of all it's obvious that Jon said it as a joke, and secondly he said "practically a stalker". Just read the lyrics. If you don't like the song, don't base it on something that it's not true.

I like it. It's not my favorite ballad, but it's far from my least favorite ballads.

I posted the verbal explanation straight from Jon's lips about the stalker over on Sebs board. I gotta disagree with you here, jon isn't chuckling about making a joke about the stalker, it's more of a nervous laugh of "I hope the fans don't turn on me when they find out what this is really about".

I haven't listened to Paragon's post yet but Jon did talk about this at the TLFR Borgata concert. I doubt that explanation made it onto the dvd (I only watched it once) and I don't remember if the explanation was webcast. I gotta look through my files.

It's based on the movie Romeo Is Bleeding. So, yeah, it is about a psychotic stalker type guy. The movie sucked, btw. I'm glad Jon pulled the song from the soundtrack.
