You can interpret any over the top cheesy love song like that. I mean Everything I do, I do it for you, sounds a bit creepy doesn't it ?
If his intention was to do a dark song about a stalker then he's failed miserably. I always got the impression that the stalker comment was in a jokey way, saying the sentiments expressed in the song were so over the top it's almost like they're a stalker.

Great song though !!

it is an amazing song. maybe not lyrically mindblowing but omg jons voice on that (studio) is brilliant.
i would guess that any reference to stalking would probably be a joke?

I think it is about a stalker ... I know I've said it before, but it was after the stalker comment that I was finally able to put my finger on why I think it's such a good song ... it's the fact that, despite the romantic lyrics, it has this somewhat ... menacing air about it, and obviously quite a lot of desperation

Always is not my favorite song- however it has historical significance for me since it was the song that brought me back to Bon Jovi. I listened to them when I was little (like 6 *lol*) but then I didn't really have the opportunity to listen to them until our schoolbus in seventh grade played the local pop station during the morning commute. That was when I first heard Always (about 12 years old) and I really liked it so I saved my money and bought the single- which lead to Crossroads- which led to a full blown infatuation *grin* and so on.

Always was a "diamond in the rough" in an age of music that had very little to interest me.

I've always liked the song (no pun intended). Not in my top favorites, but not one I hate either. I remember back when it was released that it got so much airplay, I actually started to get sick of hearing it. As for the lyrics, I never thought they were too creepy. Just a typical love song, guy loses girl, guy misses girl and wants her back but she's with someone else. Plus, I've known for a long time that is was originally intended for the movie Romeo Is Bleeding (hence the first line of the song), so I knew where the lyrics were coming from. It's no Living In Sin, IBTFY or Love Song, but a good ballad none the less. Actually, when VH-1 did their countdown of top power ballads, it was #1 I believe.

Always is one of my favourite Bon Jovi songs. For a long time it was near the top of my list, but It's My Life bumped it down a bit.

Always is not my favourite Bon Jovi song, but I definitely like it. I especially like the ad-libbing on the Live in London DVD, and the solo both in the studio version and in the Live in London DVD.

I remember listening to the song a little while ago and thinking that it still holds up...it's pretty solid, even if it is a wimply power ballad.
