I don't understand how it makes fans come off as greedy or ungrateful when they are buying every single release to begin with. Those are the fans the band should listen to most, not the casual fans that don't even waste a thought on the quality of the songs or music and just move on to the next big thing.
I agree with Maria and Seb here .. why are the fans thought as greedy and ungrateful as they are just showing that they care ....
perhaps its the way the complaints are made ?.

Exactly Dawn, It just seems they are dammed if they do and dammed if they don't. Everyone always has something to say about how they run their band. What they do, what shows they play.....blah blah blah blah. How does that show you care when all you do is critisize everything????? I don't see how that makes them do what people want. If anything, it just pisses them off.

They choose to pull the album back for good reasons I am sure. Time will tell, everyone just needs to chill.

because if I didn't care, I wouldn't waste a minute to even critizise.

How do you figure? Seriously, enlighten me Spunky. How do you figure it would be immature and childish for them to take offense to majority of the comments that come from people who call themselves fans? Some of the things, these supposed "fans" say are just downright rude, childish and disrespectful. The insults I have heard, seen typed on this very board amoungest others are just downright rude and childish in their own right. They have worked very hard for 20 years to be the best, not everything has worked out for the best and that is part of the way things are and I am QUITE sure they realize this, but think about this. If someone insulted everything you did on a daily basis with your job, wouldn't you develop a complex and start thinking it wasn't worth your energy anymore?????? God knows I would!!!! Seriously think about that, put it this way. If someone looked you in the face daily and called you fat.......you would start to believe it wouldn't you? Eventually you would. You would develop a complex and feel like everything you ate was causing you to gain more weight.

Same thing with the band, people keep telling them they suck. Time to give it up, time to walk away time to do this and that. You run a band and tell me how easy it truly is. Until you have walked a mile in thier shoes, you cannot accurately claim to know how it feels to be them. Good or bad. Yea being a rock star doesn't suck all the time, but when your own fans begin to turn on you.......IT SUCKS.

Because anytime you get offended because omeone critizises people you don't even know, it is immature and childish. They can "defend" themselves perfectly well, your fits will do nothing to help them or others, but just piss of the ones that do care about the quality of the music.

Tells a lot about you. I'd prove them wrong.

Again, sounds more like your personal problem. The guys in the band knew what they were about to do when they stepped out into the limelight. They've lived in the public eye for years and years. They know who to listen, or so I'd hope. Let's just hope they listen to the fans for a change.

Every band gets negative critizism. If you're weak, you give up the first time it happnes. If not, you go on and get stronger. Bon Jovi didn't get to where they are by being weak and I'm sure constructive critique from fans won't make them call it a day. If so, it's not the band I loved.

If your fans turn on you, you should turn on you and think about what you've done. There's a reason why fans turn on you.

Because getting upset about what people say about you to an extreme is childish and immature. Particularly in that profession. Artists will always be critizised no matter what. In fact, every single person will be critizised in their lifetime more than once and it would be silly to overreact and get pissed about it. It's what toddlers do.

which shows even more that getting upset about it would be downright stupid.

No. Particularly while at the same time, my bank account is soo big, I truly don't know what to do with my money anymore --- that would be a sure sign that there are more people that care about what I do than not. To get to your point, though, no, I would not develop a complex. I know what I am capable of and I know why I do things -- which is for my enjoyment --- if I didn't enjoy what I am doing, the money better be good. Which in the case of BJ it seems to be more the latter.

Again, others ridiculous opinions have no impact on my self-worth. That is not to say that I don't care what others say about me, but I only care about what people that I respect have to say about me. I am sure the same is true with every artist --- there will always be people that are ridiculous and silly and make stupid allegations. Why should they pay attention to them? Then, there will always be people that give constructive critizism - those are the people to pay attention to. In the end, the artist will have to do what they think themselves to be the best. Simple as that.

If you tell me that JBJ, a man of 43 years, married, rock star, father, is getting a complex because of what people on JT say, I'd have to laugh really hard.

Plus they've been doing this for over 20 years. They must be callous about it by now or they'd be quite bruised. Also it's not as if the music critics had always praised them, right? I say they're more than indolent about what people say and they just do what they feel like doing - or their company tells them to do.

What a huge discussion. I'll be at this show this summer, as I know people who work for Miller. And you know what? I don't care if it's for a "beer festival" or not. I'm just happy to have the chance to see them this summer. For free, no less.
