I hate shows like that. Why do people want to watch shows where they have people on that cannot sing at all?

One of my friends last year at Uni said he went in for Pop Stars or something, and they have opening rounds, and only the best and worst people get through. They let bad people through to the judges for the tv rather than ones who can actually sing, and they do it because some people must enjoy watching them, although I don't know why.

Was the one doing Keep The Faith any good?
