I had Bounce, HANDS, and This Left Feels Right until my computer crashed last year and am dying to find them again.

You can sort of find some of them on Youtube but not to the extent that's been uploaded. Bounce had some really interesting things textually. Nearly every rock track had a baritone guitar low in the mix.

They are not quite isoloated, but there is a three CD set of part isolated tracks yes - can't remember the exact breakdown but it's something like Bass and Drums, keyboards and strings, acoustic guitars and backing vocals, lead guitars etc.

Worth checking out if you are interested in such things, as I am.

Are the Bounce, TLFR and HaND the actual multitracks/stems, or are they just the 5.1 channels separated?

If it's the latter I'm quite sure you can find the SACD/DualDisc rips quite easily.

The stereo mix from the Bounce SACD is sweet. Sounds much better than the regular CD, with good dynamics.

They're the 5.1 channels separated. With every SACD there's also a bit of a difference into how the songs are mixed. The one for Bounce to me was most interesting as it's a bit easier to hear what's going on with the guitars and keyboards as opposed to the compressed mess on the original record.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

Tried to find them but haven't had luck, any tips?

Salaam Aleikum,

I thought so. If I remember correctly, the 5.1 mix of “I Wanna Be Loved” from the DualDisc didn’t have Richie’s talk box. It was just regular standard guitar with no effects.

These discussions always fascinate me. In the same way I imagine it would be to hear a group of Martians carrying on a conversation!
I'd seriously like to understand this stuff. Would somebody please tell me where I could start to learn what you guys are talking about? I've googled some of the terms on occasion; but it's like jumping into the middle of a soap opera that's been running for 20 years.

I understand if it's too complicated for a neophyte to grasp; but I'm not asking for a complete tutorial - just a good starting place for the basics. Audio for Dummies, if you will.
Any tips on where I might find the different types of recordings you are comparing would be helpful, too.

If I remember well, they were also on Amazon and people used to post reviews of them there.
