Funny as I type my response the ad just came on VH1. The sound is very stark and it sounds a lot better on my TV than what's on youtube.

On the making of the commercial (also on youtube) Jon says the only reason he agreed to do it is because of the social message and the charity aspect behind it.

I don't think the storyline of the commerical really lines up with the message they are trying to send. What does Jon carressing the back of a model have to do with giving back or making a positive difference?

Maybe I'm off the mark, but I think all the different situations that are shown, like Jon holding the baby, him coming in the door, him with the model, him looking in the mirror, are there to show a day in a life of someone. And the messages, like "did you rock someone's world" are used as a subliminal reminder to not get caught up in your day to day stuff and try and make a difference in someone's life.

Yeah, I suppose that is one way to look at it. I think if I had directed it, I might have focused more on his charity work. I did like the "did you rock someone's world" part with the concert footage though
