there are two separate stages.

the first is the professional stage which tests standard 'knowledge', i suppose. it involves 6 modules ranging from taxation to audit to business finance. i have part of a taxation module to resit.

the secong is known as the advanced stage which is a sort of rela-world-application stage. there are three exams. the business life cycle and business environment papers make up one section, then there's a case study (4 hours i think) which caps it all off.

then the 450hours required technical experience, of course

This threads just reminded me how glad I am that I'm not doing accounts any more.

On a slightly related note: Mike it's a bithard to stomach benefits when i worked in a shop where 99% of the people would come in, cash their giro's then head straight for the drink and fags before they'd even bought a loaf of bread.

These guys are scumbags - what about the roads... the NHS.... ??

I bring my point back to the nurses & how they will never progress beyond the higher tax barrier.

The UK version is CIPFA.

They're not particularly all scum bags but if someones going to give them money to spend on fags and drink instead of them going out and grafting for it, then why not? It's not an isolated incident, I'd safely put money on 75%+ of people claiming not actually needing to do it.

And obviously the NHS, roads etc... need to be paid for I'm not sayin they shouldn't be.

Is it fair that a Nurse should pay 28%+ when they have no hope of reaching that higher salary band... r in the wrong career?
