LH is an okay album, where only two songs really stick out:

Lost Highway (solid BJ tune, nothing new though, but it's sooo catchy... "hey hey!")
Make A Memory (yet a classic, their best single release in years!)

Then there are some really nice songs, though they all miss 'something'... a special ingedrient, I have no idea, they're just too "easy", like unfinished demos or so (songwriting-wise):

Whole Lot Of Leaving (a bit undecided on this one, like it more since the DVD)
Any Other Day
We Got It Going On (I have no problem with the lyrics)
Seat Next To You (well, I like it)
One Step Closer (cheesy lyrics but nice melody)
I Love THis Town

Then there is the "B-Side that ended up on an album by mistake"

- Everybody's Broken (like it better since the DVD)

And then there are the songs that should never have appeared on a BJ ALBUM:

- Summertime (nice melody, but lame and cheap. It hurts that nowadays they are satisfied with releasing songs like this... they could've done so much more to that tune).
- The Last Night (the worst BJ lyrics ever and sounds so mediocore)
- TIll We Ain't Strangers Anymore (can't stand the song)

Listening to the album as I write I have to add that "Everybody's Broken" grows on me. I take back the "B-Side" label. It belongs to the group of okay songs now.

The bonus tracks belong to the best from that project. I don't like the lyrics of "Walk Like A Man", but why, oh why, didn't they put "Lonely" on the album (instead of "The Last Night")? That would have made it so much better.

I have to admit, I like the verses of Whole lot of leavin, but hate the chorus. Anyway, that's my highlight of LH

I would have to say Whole Lot of Leavin is my favourite track from LH.

I love to listen to Lost Highway while I'm driving with the windows down on my 'Stang!

And Everybody's Broken is another favourite - not the greatest song, I know. But I was having a particularly bad couple of days and that song just kind of spoke to me.

I wasn't sure if I'd still be listening to this album even a couple of weeks after it's release but here we are...and I still like it.

Lyrically, Whole Lot Of Leavin' is their best song since the These Days album (and better than some of those).

Y'know what, I don't like EVERY song, but I like the majority - there is no filler like on HAND (2 songs) and Bounce (a lot of songs).

I just did a round trip from Scotland to the south of England and back and listened to every BJ album (and solo album) on the way. Listening to them altogether, you can see the difference in quality - Fahrenheit actually far better than BJ, then Slippery & New Jersey blowing those two away, Keep The Faith being totally awesome even though a lot of the tracks on that are almost filler but somehow just don't feel it when you're listening to them, the change in mood to These Days then yeah - the poppy-ish feel of Crush with too much filler, the heavier mood of Bounce but again just too much filler, then a nice return to form for HAND and then Lost Highway better than all the recent ones.

(Didn't bother listening to compilations or TLFR)

WLOL the best song since these days? A song mediocre (at best) with no memorable hook and no chorus at all. Sad!
