He is genuinly comfortable around kids and they pick up on that .
You see a few celebs - even with their own kids - look awkward and uncomfortable when carrying or interacting with them.

The video is nice. I like Jon for such things.

That hair is pretty grey, no wonder he kept his cap on, maybe was a last minute kind of decision?
