I think we may see a patch for this soon, if Love has her way.
Love Jovi, like Nirvana, but it does seem a bit weird having him 'sing' other songs.

Well, do you think Elvis would have been quite the legend he is? Do you think Janis Joplin would have, Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix??? Most probably not. Does this mean they had no talent? Come on! Look at Jacko even. People almost forgot what awesome music he used to make until he died. That's the way things go.

Now Kurt Cobain appeared one day and turned around the music scene on his own. Name ONE other song to have the same impact as Smells Like Teen Spirit? I doubt there is one. Name ONE other band that had the same impact as Nirvana? I can't think of any. Now there's two options. 1) Cobain was indeed a genius so he deserves all the post-mortem recognition. 2) Cobain managed to fool us all with a bunch of shit albums which somehow destroyed glam rock and heavy metal. Whichever option you choose, whichever of the two Cobain actually accomplished, he's still deserves to be a legend.

Rightly said.

And for kurt fans who say he hated commercialism, why did he go on doing "unplugged" stuff on mtv, which was quite the rage at the time....incidentally popularised by bj!

Okay, I understand fully that the artist Cobain would have least liked covering ever ever ever was most probably Bon Jovi, but jeez people, it's just a video game.

Couldn't you have worded that in a more sensitive way?

2. What Devilson said.

3. Courtney is just an controlling, money-hungry, media whore. She's always bitching at something related to Kurt. Yet she seemed to think it was okay to brag to a journalist about sleeping with some other dude from some band, a few weeks after Kurt's death! If that isn't disrespecting her husband I don't know what is. And throwing a "suicide" theme party for their daughter - WTF?! And...I could go on. Everything about her is an act, and everything about her is shady. I don't think she says these things out of love and respect for Kurt at all. Apparently he was divorcing her ass before his death anyway...seriously, I don't trust her.

You're not comparing Cobain with Elvis Presley are you?

I don't see that Nirvana had as big of an impact as you're saying. There have been MANY more bands far more successful and relevant than Nirvana. Cobain didn't destroy rock or heavy metal. All styles of music hit peaks and lows. He just happened to be the main man when that style hit it's low. As for killed it - No. There are more of the glam bands around still today than grunge bands. Grunge was a fast moving fad.

Michael Jackson is a legend. John Lennon is a legend. Elvis Presley is a legend. Kurt Cobain is not a legend.
