I quite liked the J Lo line as I dont really like her so called talent. However i was shocked to hear the line in there as JBJ seems to have given her out spoken support previously, or maybe that was just about her looks and because shes a NY girl .

The song reminds me of a country and western song, for this reason I didnt care for it that much.

Aloha !

Most of you love the idea of Jon writing a song about being a real band, but don't forget that Jon likes Pink, likes Kid Rock, likes Eminem etcetera, he makes a little fool of himself by complaining about the music business while he has bought CD's of several artists that make music he suddenly claims to dislike.

He sings about being a real band and singing real songs, but the quality of songs he sings about is not the quality of songs they have been producing the last 4 years. If they would've continued writing songs like they did on KTF and TD, they would've earned much more respect, they would've gotten the respect they do want and need for being one of the last men bands. They are one of the last, but are they really one of the last respectable ? If they continue like this, they'll only start losing more and more respect if possible.

For every guy on a corner with a guitar, you'll also find a guy with a beat box rhyming about his life. Whether you recognize it or not...both take skill and dedication, if they are to be done well and get people's attention.
The thing with hiphop that bothers me is, that most of them sample existing songs or just copy it. A lot of them can't write their own melodies, only their own lyrics. That's not really creative, and if a normal band would do it everyone would think it's stupid, but when people make lyrics on the music which they're rapping it's suddenly cool. Sampling is just as weak as covering, and in fact all rappers are covering songs.

Your comment makes no sense Raine. They're not against what Metallica did and it's not an attack against the lawsuits about downloading, it's an attack towards all the people that are downloading stuff legally/illegally. You appearantly are one of them. Then please tell me, what is wrong with what Metallica did ? They stood up for their own music, and didn't like the idea of people stealing it. Like Lars was saying back in the time of the Napster process : "when you're a car mechanic and you think it's right to steal my music, then I can say it's right to let you fix my car for free" And he's right about it, you all know it, but still, because you don't get a fee for stealing it you're all doing it.

To be honest I think I'm about the only one who's stilll buying every CD I want instead of making a copy or downloading it.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

The lyrics actually goes

"Keep your pseudo-punk, hip-hop, pop-rock junk and your digital downloads".

He changed it to j-lo in Borgata but it's not the actual lyrics.

I think it's a good song. I don't have any problems with it and IMO it's the best thing to came out from TLFR project. They try to make a statement - good for them.

Unfortunately Bon Jovi sound bitter and kinda flat. If there is anyone who can change what's going on with today's music it's them. If they are so unhappy with everything, why don't they put out a groundbreaking record and change it?

Hip-hop/rap artists IMO have been very inventive lately. Right now I have Sean Paul record in my CD player and let me tell you it's simply amazing. Instead of taking cheap shots at hip-hip/rap artists who are inventive and creative, maybe rock artists should take it up a notch and become more creative and innovative and as a result more competitive.

J.Lo was just a change of the lyrics for this special concert like Jon changes lyrics a lot when he sings songs live. The original lyrics at that sentence is without J.Lo.

And the song should be offensive. Jon and Billy Falcon wrote it to show their anger about these days music industry. And they have to be straight then and not polite or anything.

persoanlly i dont see much anger in it at all, more like a nostalgic yearning.

Well, the music isn't angry but who knows how an electric version of it would sound like. But the lyrics are somehow angry or at least show unsatisfaction.

There you have it. You think a guy who sounds like he sings with both tooths knocked in the back of it's throat plus silly hip hop tunes sounds amazing...

There are bands that are creative and innovative, but most of them take it to extremes and therefor the real rock feeling gets lost. Thoguh Aerosmith tryed on Just Push Play with all the drum loops, but it didn't work. Bon Jovi tryed on Crush with the drumloops but it didn't make the songs any better, Bounce was even worse when it comes to that.

I think lots of older bands have lost the plot a bit. Take a look at all the big artists from the eighties and nineties, most of them release weak stuff compared to their usual standards. U2, Aerosmith, Bryan Adams, Bon Jovi, Oasis, none of them are able to deliver good stuff, most of all because they've lost the feeling they had when they just started or their interests have changed. Still they try to get back to it while involving new ideas. Sad enough, most of the time it just doesn't work.

Sebastiaan
