Can you guys not read:

They have 3 cd's of unreleased material, which will probably be narrowed down to 2. There will also b a b-side disk "for those who havent heard them all" plus a dvd of "all the fun stuff we've recorded of ourselves from down the years".

So 2 CD's of unreleased stuff, another disc with some of the best demos on then a DVD too. If they had 2 full CD's worth of unreleased material that would run to almost 3 hours, which I think it pretty good.

I haven't got a lot of the currently released demos either, so if there is a 3rd disc of previously released stuff then I'd like that as I probably won't have heard all of it.

Some of the material will be new, yes, but there is probably a great deal more that could be released.

I know that the cost of a big boxset would put people off, but why can't they put a boxset out as well as a shortened version on, say 2CD's. Bruce did this with Tracks (and an 18 tracks CD). I've got both of these, and the Box Set is worth paying the extra money for.

knew this would happen- it's gonna be 2 cd's of one we know all the stuff- so actually one cd (and they don't have the prove that we don't know the songs yet) plus a dvd- i say it's gonna be cash-cow-crap...
so if jon reads this post: CHANGE THAT ****ING RECORD COMP (or better say make your own one- you could also afford a football team...)

I am just happy we are getting a boxset at all. And having all the b-sides on a pressed cd rather than mp3s on a cheap burned cd-r would be nice too. How can you guys complain when you have not heard it or seen the DVD yet? Sure, it's not much, but at least we get something. NE ways, it is not really official yet so let's wait and see first. Another album by the band and a solo by Richie is great news!

Just because they call it a boxset doesn't mean it actually is one. I do not consider 2 or 3 discs a boxset. In that way lots of "Best of the 80's" collections can be named boxsets.

You also could've bought all the stuff they've been on before like the die hard fans who did this they're doing it for. ("it's a present for the fans")

So basicly you're saying we should be happy with any shite they release just because we get something.

I think the solo album by Richie is the only great news about this.

3 cds and a dvd is a boxset to me, it is not a big boxset, but still is a set of cds in a box.

Being a college student, I am very poor so I don't have the $$ to by all the singles. I am in the US and that makes it more expensive since I can't get them here. The boxset would help me out because it would be cheaper, plus I get the other unreleased stuff and the dvd.

No, I just don't think you should be judging it since this is not totally official, plus it is not out yet. And would you rather have something than nothing at all?

It seems you have lost faith in the band, but I sure haven't. I think they are able to make another great album, the question is will they do it, not if they can. And I think they will, hopefully with the next one.

But not with the same intention as a real boxset and you know what I mean.

I am just as old as you are, I also go to college and still I have a big collection. I started collecting since the year 2000 and I've got about every b-side on an officially released CD. About everything is bought on eBay, so there is no way it's more expensive for you then for me. You just don't want to spend that much money on getting b-sides and think it's fair to rip off other fans who did do that like me.

To be honest, when the material is lacking quality, I'd rather have nothing instead of something silly.

Yes I have lost a lot of faith in the band, but I do think they are still able to make a good album. I just don't think it will happen anytime soon.
