Default Let's fix the "machine"

Forget the Richie mess for a minute. I'm driving in my car to work listening to the new album. Sorry folks, I like it. And I realize as I'm listening, there IS potential for this album. My opinion - Jon needs to (first off, fix the problem with Richie), but secondly, dump the record label. He's always talking about how great they are, but come on, they're terrible.

Because We Can was a decent choice for the first single. Hell, the album debuted at #1. Since, it's dropped like a bag of rocks. Is it because the album is bad? No. It's because the record company sucks and Jon is a damn idiot.

The majority of us agree, I'm With You should have been the 2nd single. Release that to top 40. Amen - Release that to Adult Contemporary. There is no law against releasing 2 singles at the same time. Give it a couple of months. Release Water to top 40 and release Thick as Thieves or Room to AC.

As for Jon, PLAY THE GODDAMN SONGS ON THE BECAUSE WE CAN TOUR. You know, the one where you're supposed to be promoting your new record and not coming off like a nostalgia act.

Fire Matt and Bobby. Get Hugh off the perch behind you and tell him this isn't Crosby, Stills and Nash.

Next....

I listened to the album today too and I agree with you that it has potential and I like most of it. I disagree with your single choices though. I'd release Beautiful World to Top 40 (It would fit in perfectly on The Pulse on Sirius) and What's Left of Me to country radio. Amen to AC would be a good choice.

I also agree that they should be playing songs from the new album on the tour. They should mix it up and play most of the new songs (not every night, but mix it up from night to night).

I'm not a fan of the album, I haven't listened to it in over a month, but I wonder if Jon isn't adding more songs off it to the set list because Richie isn't there. Wouldn't it be strange to debut new songs live without the guitar player playing them?

I think the album stinks of Jon and in a bad "I just ran 200 miles" way. I'm glad it's dropping into the bottom of the ocean.

The only fix this "machine" needs is to become human, more people, more music, less machines and rhyme factory.

Really blows my mind how people can enjoy this album. To me it's an insult coming from the band, so run of the mill that it hurts.

Is it weird if I read your posts as Robin talking with a Canadian accent?

Yeah. Here's some wisdom:

No one likes modern Bon Jovi except for their exceptionally large mid-40's female fan base. And people who want to be like them.

Don't forget another category lurking these forums, the nostalgia fans, who are there just for the good old days and the odd rarity in a PBP.
At least I didn't feel like I belong in the two you mentioned.

Someday when you're a big boy and living in the real world, you'll understand the difference between opinion and reality. I have no desire to be Jon Bon Jovi (wouldn't mind having his bank account though, nor am I a woman, and I like the record.
