All they needed to do was release a LH track to TV/radio (Say Whole Lotta Leavin for example as they already had the video), and then encourage people at the gig to text for a version of it (a live version if chart eligible). I mean put the number on the screens before the concert, even when the song is on. It worked for WSYCGH in '06, but even that wasnt the greatest of efforts (promising a live version from the gig you went to, and then just getting the Boston version). Obviously Id rather they did this with Any Other Day, but thats all it needed. Playing to potentially about 250,000 people, even a fifth of them texting for it would have led to a very strong position.
A glorious chance wasted, but then, the singles charts have lost so much relevance nowadays that it isnt a slight on BJ at all not to have a No.1, and whereas I used to be bothered about it, it now matters not a jot as long as the albums and tours are successful.

Yup they missed out! They did it on the HAND tour with who says you can't go home and that managed to get to number 5! Couldn't understand why they didnt this time! Yeah ok they not that as bothered about singles anymore with how fixed the charts are these days but surely it helps sells a few more albums getting another top 10 hit!
