Nah, just kidding, Jon did not lie, he said he wasn't sure it would make the album.

We can thank Capital Nashville for that. But we may see it on Keith's next CD.

What does that mean? Does it mean that the team won't be playing anymore? Or is it that they're just wrapping up the season?
End of the season.

It's not really the letter I was expecting for the last ever fanzine.
He sounds pretty pissed off at some of the fans for complaining about the delay in the album coming out.
I was hoping he was going to write almost a 'goodbye' letter because it's the last one we are going to get from him!

I find it really sad. sad as in literally i feel sorry for Bon Jovi.. I don't really know what else to say but good luck Bon Jovi

I mean sure you wouldn't read this mate.. but anyway all i can say is Keep the Faith, because I'll be there for you.. And remember to Talk to Jesus.. Seriously.

Default Life

He was being very introspective about his life. I though it was beautiful. I haven't been a big fan over the last few years, but I must say that this letter was moving. When you can look back on your life and see it with humor..... What can I say, the guy is deeper than I expected. How could you not smile a little at his "cheating remorseful spouse" routine? And his thoughts on not every record being a Slippery When Wet.... you can really sense where he is emotionally right now. Had I not been able to sleep because of my own mind ramblings, I would have never even known of any upcoming album. Jon's letter gives me hope for this upcoming album. Years after "connecting" with Slippery, NJ, and DA, perhaps we are finally meeting up again. Okay, enough of the soul searching.

Anyone care to translate this mumbo jumbo for me???? Cos I cant make no sense of it.

Judging by the tone of that letter ("not every record can be a SWW") that he's already treating it like it will flop

He left LA in Dec, having given the album to his record company. Boarded the plane with the album in hand, which is a present for us and of course himself. The record really fit him, as in he really likes it. He got peace of mind because it was all finished.

?????

I think the SWW comment was meant towards fans who would like them to go back to doing that kind of music instead of changing.

Default Sww

SWW was huge! I cannot think of a single album since then that has had that wide of audience and that amount of success. I took the Slippery When Wet comment to mean that no matter how hard you work or how good the music is, very few albums will have the success that that album did. The timing was perfect. The skill, the luck, the fans, and the ear of the radio & music industry - it just might not be possible to create that triumph again. That kind of knowledge and questioning what the future has in store (who wants to be thought of as a 40 year old "has been"), may cause you to start measuring success on a different scale.
