Lily Allen Thanks Bon Jovi For Her Singing Career

British singer Lily Allen has credited American rockers Bon Jovi with inspiring her singing career. The Smile star claims watching the group live in London as a kid fueled her desire to become a performer.

She says, "I saw Bon Jovi play at Wembley Stadium in 1994. My mum got free passes so I was able to watch from the side of the stage. It was amazing. It was a big moment in my life. I thought, 'That looks fun. I'd like to give singing a go.'"

Thats really intersesting. but its such a coincidence because ive just been watching my 'live from london' bon jovi dvd (for about the tenth time) and its just such an amazing performance and i can see how it could inspire people. its from about the same time lily allen saw them i think.

I also wonder how many other artists around now and to come have been influenced by jovi. It must be such a great feeling to be part of a band that has influenced such a successful singer. cooooooooooool post

I really like Lilly Allen - I never thought I would as it's not the kind of music I usually like, but there's a certain charm to her crass songs and she's got a really nice voice when she uses it properly.

(cue me on the big screen) JBJ: "How good have you been? Oh My God!" (laughs, more teasing) JBJ: "You want it huh, you want it huh? Blood on Blood just for you, the good girl in the front row? The all request hour, the girl in the front row has just asked for Blood on Blood, ok, Merry Christmas young lady!" Amazing <3

A chavtastic girl who didn't get any help at all from her kinda famous dad to release a record.

Funnily enough, she was in the papers the other day because she was on a charm-offensive in America, all dolled up and looking really pretty in a bid to win some fans. Over here, dressing like Pat Butcher and Timmy Mallett's secret love child is her favourite marketing tool.

It was not Lily Allen's myspace account that started her career. That thing went up spring last year and clearly had a packet of money, photoshoots and videos all set up on it. Also the songs which were available to listen to have I think all been singles (Smile, LDN and Alfie... Nan You're A Window Shopper was up there too mind...)

I don't for a second believe that myspace launched her carerr. She was signed sealed and invested in way before that her page on that website. It's just a marketing gimmick.
