Can't confirm it but I have a hard time picturing I Just Wanna Be Your Man as being from the These Days sessions - it sounds a lot more like a Crush era song to my ears, lyrically and production wise.

Update:
Blaze Of Glory
Sons Of Beaches
& The KTF Outtakes (Again)

Had a long beach day so I went through a lot of material...

Started with Blaze... This is my all time favorite album... It's just perfect in every way. Not one bad song on this album... The vocals are at Jon's peak. It's perfectly produced and what's even most impressive about this one is how fast it all came together... Levon is also from this session so that is track 11 and I threw in Working Too Hard to close it out at number 12... (Jon and Aldo Nova immediately went into Blood On The Bricks and that's also another perfect album with the exception of Aldo on vocals... Let's face it, he did an amazing job but he's no JBJ... Jon would have killed that album vocally back then... Such a missed opportunity)... But back to Blaze, it's just the perfect album.. The only thing equally perfect in different ways is New Jersey... That's most likely tomorrow...

Continuing on from today, I then went into Sons Of Beaches... I like this one more than most fans... I actually love that raw demo sound... The songs do kinda blend a little but they are all so perfectly written that the combo is just fantastic... If these songs were New Jersey, I think the album might have been in trouble. Not because the songs aren't good but they just don't seem to appeal to the masses but then again, they are not mastered either...

I really didn't want to go immediately into New Jersey... The day was kinda winding down and being that I just organized the 2nd half of KTF due to the Box Set thread, I figured I'd pop that back on... Again, just very impressed... There are a few that are so/so but overall, they would equally make a great album imo...

The people I was with are casual fans... Or lets just say don't hate Bon Jovi... However they were all very impressed with all of the music... They kept asking me questions and at the end of the day said "great music today"... I could have told them the music was all from last year and they wouldn't even know. But I told them that it's a Soundtrack and NJ and KTF leftovers... They were seriously impressed which is always cool...

New Jersey and Slippery next!!!!

If KTF had outlaws and starting all over again instead of blame it on the love and woman in love you would have a 10/10 album

Hmm woman in love, even if it is cheesy, it has a more coherent groove than outlaws. There is something missing from outlaws that makes it less interesting to hear and less "flowing".

Blame it on the love or R n R, I like much so... As a kid I used to like a lot its intro, first with the drums and then this guitar riff..

But yeah starting all over again is a hell of a song. Very good ! And I enjoy it mostly on the boxset version, it is much more rough, real and to the point..

Outlaws needs a solo and and outro as we've only heard a demo

Update:
New Jersey and Slippery:

The better the album, the less to say.... New Jersey is absolutely flawless... And so is Slippery for that matter...

I wouldn't change a thing about New Jersey from A to Z... The songs, the vocals, the production... it's just the perfect album...

My only issue with Slippery is Edge Of A Broken Heart not being included! Other than that, same as the above...

A little off topic but when I listened to Slippery, I listened to the BlueRay version... What a complete waste of time that was... The audio is incredible but all the added features are just noise to me. I listened to the original so many times that if a phrase is off, I'll hear it... The added additional dialog was completely unnecessary. I'm not even sure where they got it. It was definitely Jon's then voice so it was either taken from demos / other outtakes, or they took it from other songs... They even changed the guy who say's "Dr. Bon Jovi, report to emergency"... I mean WHY? And even some of the edits don't match... Horrible Job!!! Oh, they added birds chirping to the beginning of Living On A Prayer... There were 1 or 2 things that were okay but 1000 other things wrong... It's the same thing George Lucas did by going back to add additional features to the original Star Wars movies... Just leave it all alone and work on other shit that fans actually want...

Update:
The journey has been completed:

7800
Bon Jovi Self Titled
Power Station

I've always lumped the first and second albums together as one... With only 10 tracks on one album and 8 on the other, in combination with discovering these albums together after Slippery, it's just one long album to me... If I had to pick one over the other, I think 7800 would win... Self Titled has Runaway and few other I love but 7800 has Silent Night, IAOOL, and a few others I love too, however, 7800 has a better production and better vocals from Jon...

I can't believe some of the hate these albums get. Jon doesn't like them because he was a puppet back then and wants to forget everyone involved in making them like they never happened

I guess it all comes down to when you became a fan... I jumped on after Slippery so these albums were all I had... This was the Burning Bridges of THINFS. IMO, these albums define why I am a fan... Guitar driven, catchy hooks, insane vocals from JBJ, and just overall balls out albums...

I could even appreciate The Power Station Demos... There are about 8 to 10 track on there that if given the right production and attention, could have made up a great album back then as well.

Ranking In Order:
New Jersey
Slippery
7800
Bon Jovi
Sons Of Beaches Demos
Power Station Years

It's been fun going through EVERYTHING!

Final Ranking:
1. New Jersey
2. Blaze Of Glory
3. Slippery
4. 7800
5. Bon Jovi
6. Keep The Faith
7. Open All Night (If Always, Sat Night, & Good Guys are included)
8. These Days
9. Sons Of Beaches Demos
10. Burning Bridges
11. Keep The Faith Demos (second 1/2 of the intended double album)
12. Sex Sells
13. THINFS
13. Destination Anywhere
14. The Circle
15. HAND
16. What About Now
17. Crush
18. Bounce
19. Lost Highway
20. Power Station
21. TLFR

Ironically, Lost Highway is ranked last of actual albums but Memory is probably my favorite post 2000 song so go figure...

This is how I feel today but it's always subject to shift a little...

Exactly how I feel. The first 2 have always been overlooked. Great albums.

hey, loved your review... i'm doing something just like it but through the release order, I putted the Box Set and b-sides to each album and stuff, to listen to the full era of everything... Would be awesome if you shared your tracklists or at least how you listened to the demos and Sons of Beaches songs... thanks
