Yeah well, that was also the reason why I thought they wanted to do it. I wouldn't mind getting the whole show though

Maybe they already thought that it was going to be a "historical" moment for the band. Hyde Park is a great venue and maybe they wanted to film as much as possible just in case they want to do something with it. And the shots from behind were also filmed on the screens during the concert.

Besides that, the Amsterdam Arena is twice as small as Hyde Park, so it wouldn't make much sense to have camera's behind the crowd.

This should maybe end up in the tour section, but Hyde Park was one of the better shows. It had Blood on Blood, & These Days in one show - which made it for me. Jons voice wasn't at its strongest, but certainly not its weakest & I thought they came across very well in the DVD. Certainly FAR better than Crush 2000. & he did have ALOT of energy during the show. I was about 8 ppl back, BANG in front of him & he was tiring me out!!

That said, Mannheim was far better.

Amsterdam had its moments - I belive, & a kick-ass KTF, but the arena was very hot & apart from those the setlist was very unadventurous. Jons voice was good during it though.

Unfortunately I didn't see Munich & Kiel

Me neither, but those songs weren't planned except for the guest appearance. For the rest it was a very basic setlist. Being it the last show of a small European tour with a few highlights like Kiel and some rarities it would not have been a shame if it would've had a setlist with more rarities in it. The show itself was just nothing special.

And even on that song it looked like Jon was tired. I agree it was a very beautiful performance, but Jon and Richie looked tired and played it like they had to, and not with the feeling of ending a great tour.

People here kept raving about it and the footage on TLFR Live...all I saw was a tired band who wanted to go home, which makes sense.
Exactly. They've made the mistake of releasing a show on which they looked like that (the Crush performance) and most of us complained at the lack of enthusiasm and the performance itself. Now a lot of us were at the Hyde Park show and want to have it released just because they were witnessing what was supposed to be a fantastic show, which it wasn't. You can't relive the memory with a video and therefor they should release a show on which they had lots of enthusiasm and a great crowd. Hyde Park lacked both. The crowd was big, but not great. To be honest I don't think they should release Hyde Park.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

I wasn't at the Hyde Park show but I have heard it. It seemed good enough to go to DVD for me but didn't I read somewhere that Richie and Jon both had bad colds and didn't like the way it sounded? My memory is bad. The Kiel show is my favorite to listen to as far as the bounce tour goes. If anyone has this show on video please pm me for a trade.

Hyde Park is the first/only show I´ve attended, therefore I´d like it to be released but I think Munich is the best by setlist etc. Of course Kiel is on its own league.

Yes but that's just it - they didn't HAVE to play it. In fact, the whole encore section with the 'half hour overtime' they did they simply wouldn't have been done if they felt under the weather and couldn't manage it. Yes Jon and Richie were cream crackered by the end of the night (as no doubt were the other guys!) but believe me, you'd feel like crap after finishing a 3 hour set with 28 songs and giving it your all! Personally, I don't think either Jon or Richie looked like they were struggling and they were full of energy right up to Captain Crash (followed by a tired acoustic, but nevertheless very good, version of Never Say Goodbye).

The fact that the rarities in the set weren't planned and that the rest was a BASIC set is absolute crap! You could apply that to any gig where they played the odd rare track and say it was overall a very basic 'planned' set with the rare one thrown in at the last minute!

Point is, it was great gig and, like someone said earlier, no-one left disappointed - it was a fantastic performance and well worthy of a DVD!

And, just a passing note, I thought the crowd were f**kin amazing! If you weren't there, you couldn't possibly appreciate how hot it was that day - people were fainting left right and centre and yet everyone was still joining in right up to the finale (you can see for yourself on Captain Crash which was the gig's penultimate song!). Simply unforgettable!

I must admit, I was a bit dissapointed with the footage on the DVD, the band did seem to be "going through the motions" a lot.
I did enjoy the show though, but not half as much as I enjoyed Munich.
Munich was so spontaneous and had much more feeling and atmosphere.
I think a lot of the atmosphere is lost when you can't see everyone all around you, but that's just my opinion.

Anyhow, I must try to get the Video/DVD for Munich sometime, if there is one?!

Just for the record, the reason the show was historic was, it was the largest paid single artist show in hyde park.

Queen pulled in nearnl 150,000 in 1976 but that was free show and the party in the park shows reg pull in 100'000 but they multi artist shows!! hope that clears that up.

Id like to see more footage of show, but bootleg cd is awful and mine was taken from soundboard, so dont hold out much hope, also they kept losing link to screens and satalite in show, so not sure whole show is in the can!!

Shame tho!!
