I've always been pissed of that they seemed to release, or were going to release almost the whole show, but didn't.... There was it seems a reissue, with most of the set on it... I know this has come up before, but they REALLY should just put that out
I'd say if they were to relase the other half of the show it would be better than the half they did release.... I'd Die For You, Dry County e.t.c
I agree three nights would be ok, but having said that, I was watching the Rock In Rio from 1990 today, and somewhere the band will have a flawless copy of that show, and it really ROCKED. Same with Tokyo 85, (as you see on the Behind the Music - really great quality), plus I'm guessing numerous pro shot recordings we've all seen on vid that they'll have first gen recorded, that with a bit of mastering could look great on DVD. I'd sooner a 3 DVD box set of say Tokyo 85, ROck in Rio, and Vancouver 87 (I think that was the year).
As for things sounding bad on the DVD, I actually like that. I hate the fact that Blood On Blood and Wild in the Streets were omited from the Crush DVD, as imp Blood on Blood was the best song on that tour! Even if there were mistakes, or feedback, it's a live show! That sort of thing happens, it's part of the charm of it if anything. If they want a flawless recording they go into a studio, the point of a live show is it's unpredictable, and things can go wrong. If you take out what goes wrong, you loose context of the concert, and don't get a real live feeling.... I know bands don't like people hearind things they do that are bad, but still, they should be true to the concert, and release it in full.... I even want pauses for the encors, i.e not cutting and editing. I'd sooner have something that starts lights out, and ends lights up.... A concert experiance, as opposed to a manufactured concert that is formed by the director and band, trying to create something that doesn't represent that show..... This isn't picking at Bon Jovi, but all bands that do this, which I think is most.
