Everyone who thinks that Prayer and IML were terrible is just jaded. I live in Philadelphia, I went to Live8, as did a bunch of people (teenagers) I know, and ALL of them said Bon Jovi sounded amazing. And if you saw the crowd's response to it, and how much they were into it, maybe it wouldn't matter so much if Jon couldn't reach that one freaking note. These are 40-some year old men singing a 19 year old song for the thousandth time... you think it's gonna be special and different each time they do it?

Maybe after hearing Jon sing Prayer 50 times, you have heard the best and the worst renditions... but for a person who has only seen it once or twice, it's different. Keep that in mind.

It wasn't about one freaking note. I can understand him not singing the high parts of Prayer, since he's 20 years further. But I can not understand it that he's not able to sing It's My Life properly, while the song is only 5 years old. And you don't need to be special in order to be good. I don't know where that one comes from?

Coincidentally I talked with someone about it today, who wasn't there, but watched it on TV. He said the performance wasn't really what he expected from a band being as big as Bon Jovi. He's only heard/seen Bon Jovi live from radio and TV, and thought they were just lame compared to the album versions.

So no crap about it being different for someone who's seen it once or twice, crap = crap. Compare Prayer from Live8 to the album version, and it's crap. No matter how you twist it or turn it. A lot of fans are saying that it was actually pretty good, just because lately they've heard a few terrible performances of the song. How silly.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

I wasn't impressed by Prayer. I thought it was better on the Bounce tour as it was a little different with Jon doing an Acappela intro consisting of the bridge and then letting the crowd sing the chrous, before the song kicked in.
