Default Lost Highway....

First.... Im pretty sure someone else has said something similar to what im saying now, but i couldn't find anything, so i'll say it now. Why do people hate Lost Highway? Who cares if it is country music. Lets face it, I was fairly disapointed with the Lost Highway album the first time I listened to it. But man, it grew on me. Lost Highway, Everybody's Broken, Whole Lotta Leavin' and We Got It Goin On are all on my top twenty-five favorite Bon Jovi Songs.

By the way, I can't stand country music, but this LH is different.....All i'm trying to say is... to all of you lost highway haters anyway..... suck up you're pride, put away the fact that you hate country, and try to take in the (In my opinion) the best Bon Jovi album of this decade.

....And when people have "Lost Highway: Lost Cause" pics in there signiture, you know they never gave it a chance in the first place. listening to it before you go to bed a couple times is not enough.

i dont HATE it.. but do I want my favorite band to release albums like this??
I prefer the rockband they once were, and HAND was a great step in the direction i like.
Make a memory and any other day are probably the only 2 songs i'll listen to off this album anymore.

Its safe to say they're going a new direction and its just not something i'd like to hear out of them... but they need to do what lights their spark these days so more power to them! i'm just extremely greatful they are still around doing what they love

and i've notice jon tends to reinvent himself every 5 years or so.. so we'll see where this goes!

Yeah, I like Lost Highway. I don't LOVE it, and it's a bit samey but there are a few tracks on there I really dig. I know Jon jumped on the country bandwagon early on (live steel pedal, Hank Williams, etc) before backpedalling... but most of it isn't really country either.

All that said, there are other artists who generally do this type of music better, and I would prefer the next Jovi album to be rock.

This has been discussed to absolute death, but whatever.
I like Lost Highway, more accurately I think the first half is really good. The second half ranges from ok to absolute SUCK. The one thing I still say is that, even most of the songs I detest on the record, aren't really country. Had the band not pushed the whole "country thing" the way they did, it wouldn't even be an issue IMO.

Yeah, or just shut the **** up and accept the fact that there's more people that dislike the album than there's people who actually think it's the best Bon Jovi album of this decade.

I mean, what the ****? The title track is alright, so are Whole Lot Of Leavin' and Any Other Day, but all the other songs are rubbish. You're saying We Got It Goin' On is one of the best songs on the album, I mean, for ****s sake!

Lost Highway is just a shit album and the most mediocre stuff they've ever released. Most of the songs wouldn't have made it on Bounce either, which says it all really. It just screams writers block. And I don't need to listen to an album 50 times in order to make me appreciate it. It sucks.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

The only songs that i like from this album are "Whole Lot Of Leaving" "Any other Day", "Lost Highway" and the b-side "Walk like a man". The other songs... bah , don't like them but i don't mind to hear "last night "or "Everybody's broken".
"Have a nice day" was way better than this one.
I just hope that the next album is just a TRUE sequel to "Slippery When Wet" and "New Jersey"(and even "These Days")

Look, I thought Lost Highway was okay - still do - but the proof is in how often it gets listened to after the initial fervour of a new Bon Jovi release.

So here's the running order of what I typically listen to Jovi-wise (will leave out live albums and such-like)

Keep The Faith
New Jersey
These Days (only 3rd because, well, you need to be in a melancholy mood to listen to this)
Have A Nice Day
Slippery
Crush
Lost Highway
Bounce
Fahrenheit
Bon Jovi

Based on how often I listen to it - no, it wasn't a great album and no it's not one of my favourites.

It was okay. When I listen to it I'll sing along and enjoy most of the songs for what they are. But it's no classic, and certainly never in the "one of the best things Jovi have done" category.
