I think it's the worst album Bon Jovi have ever done. The only song that's half decent is Whole Lot of Leavin'. The rest I just can't stand or just don't like. WGIGO and Summertime are pathetic for band Bon Jovi's standards. Cheesy pop bullshit! Lady Gaga writes better songs than this. Make a Memory is another cheesy, whiney, lovey-dovey ballad that bores me to tears just like all the ballads from the last 5 albums. There's just no power or passion in it.

I LOVE the album too. LH has never left my cd-player longer than a month since it was released. Only minor point for me is that there is a clear drop in the second part of the album after Any other day.

But in general the album sounds very warm, very natural and not forced at all (compared to bounce - what the hell were they thinking back then???)

Breakdown of the album:

LH - really among my fav BJ songs. To me, this song is in the spirit of Just Older, Saturday Night, ...
Summertime - love it (probably no one else does). Like the rythm, the way it is sung, the beat... cool song.
Memory - among the best BJ ballads : straight in line with always, bed of roses ... just a little more intimid.
Whole lot of leaving: perfect BJ song: the pace, the mood, the lyric ... this is a real JON song
Got it goin' on: really cool when played live (many of you hate it, but really, to me this song ain't far from bad medicine)
Any other day: atmospheric .. the intro of the song, the lyrics, ... the climax during the solo...

PART TWO: if it was a vinyl, i would probably just play the A side. Even hard to remember the order of the songs by heart...

Seat next to you : a bit boring for me. Musically very poor, sung very poor
Everybody's broken: bah ... the idea of the song is ok, but it goes nowhere : a filler
Strangers: Love the song. Bit cheesy, but the female voice saves the songs and makes it great. In love with her voice and goes really good together with jon's voice
One Step Closer: skip it - filler - boring
Love this town: not really my favourite - i can understand why the band record this and this song is about the anthem and spirit, but it's actually a bit cheesy and only cool for teenagers i guess.

Well there you go... but know, everyone will understand why I dig the fact they still play 2 or 3 LH songs on the CIRCLE Tour.

Cheers

The biggest pile of shit ever released . Just the thought of crap like ILTT or SNTY makes me angry. And the lame slick pop production is the icing on the cake.
Full stop!

Hmm, you see to me - I love this town = Wild in the Streets twenty years later. Tell me, do you like Wild in the Streets? Yeah we know they can produce songs like Dry County/These days/Faith etc etc, but come on look back at where they started; fast paced fun rock.

Yeah I agree. There's two other complete shitters, as well as the ones I mentioned. Bon Jovi are just an all out cheese pop band these days when you look at the recent material. The Circle is marginally better but that ain't exactly difficult. ILTT is the same as WITS? What a load of bollocks!

Each to their own. To me "Memory" sounds heartfelt and passionate, simply one of the best post 2000 songs.

And I repeat myself but "I Love This Town" is not as bad as people make it. It's a fun song, that's all. If it's the material we all expected/hoped for is another thing, but I take it for what it is.

I agree to the slick production though. IT all sounds too nice and clean.
