I prefer the Nebraska tracks when they're backed up by the band.

The 3 CD album - Live 75-85 has almost all of the Nebraska tracks done by the Band - or at least electric.

An absolute must of an album IMO - and not subjected to the dread loudness problem either (to get back to the original discussion).

Hmmm thanks for the heads up. My first Bruce album was actually The Rising, which I bought when I was 14, but I'm really only getting into him now.

I wonder how many times we Jovi fans must be told this? Are we stupid or something?
hi,thanks a lot for bringing this topic to the "sane" fans, although the reply from that "funny guy" worries me...if the band or anyone related to them(in this case the recording engineer) thinks this way...

for anyone willing to hear the difference,i have remastered hand completely(from the dual disc, dolby version) and some bounce tracks from the qvc dvd vob files.

the first bon jovi album to introduce "clipping" was keep the faith, but it was minute, these days has a decent amount of compression, but i was able to restore around 85% of that album, the remasters, well they just blow.

here's some more information,with pictures...

all great record producers know the key to a good master is cranking the gain and compressing the shit out of every track

yes,but what you hear is mostlyfake/forced loudness,a song can be loud without being compressed, for example,Iron Maiden's 'Reincarnation of Benjamin Breeg' is loud, but it is not compressed->http://i37.tinypic.com/2j34b3a.png
apparently, this song is -7db softer than Christina Aguilera's last album.
