Bon Jovi come on at 9, and do 3.5 hours of requests, and actually play them! i.e no set list, they improvise the whole thing.....
that would be the best, no doubt. just like Hall and Oates did a few weeks ago on A&E. they took calls and stuff and played whatever was requested for the entire show. i don't even like Hall and Oates, but it was a good idea and took some guts.
Southside Johnny did a similar thing when I saw him do an accoustic set a few years back in a bar in Sheffield. He came onstage with a set, played out two songs. then said "**** that, I want to play somethign upbeet" screwed up the set, through it away, and improvised the whole show. They were taking requests, but also Johnny would tell one of them to start somethign, then the others would join in, it was very very impressive.. It was Johnny, Bobby and their keyboard player doing the show..... They also stayed onstage for two long... Their road manager was making a signal to Johnny for them to go off whilst Bobby was doing Here Comes the Sun, and Jonny told him this was the last song.... but they came back on and did about another 20-30 mins!!!!!!!! I nearly missed my train, and only managed to get it because I ran! That was some show!!!!!!!

maybe this should go on the other bands forum, but it's kind of relevent, and it rocks!

Sprinsteen was doing a show openeing for Cuck Berry. They (i.e Sprinsteen and estreet band) were also doubling up as CB's backing band... So they were all really nervous, and when Chuck arrived, Bruce was fourced to go up to Chuck...
[springsteen] "sorry to disturb you Mr Berry sir, but could you tell us what songs we're going to be playing"
[Cuck Berry] "We're going to be playing some Cuck Berry songs son]....

It always makes me laugh, they had to just improvise the whole thing, pick up on what he was doing.... Must have been a great show/.

Raise Your Hands

Wouldn't work. You can't play a ballad right after one first rock track. Hook Me Up might sound heavy, the rhythm of the song is quitte slow compared to other rock tracks. And the last 3 songs before the first encore should be famous hits. Something like Sat. Night, In These Arms and IML.0 For ther rest it's quitte good, but what exactly do you mean with Damned/My Guitar Lies Bleeding and Captain Crash/Next 100 Years ?

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan
OY VEY

Maybe I forgot to mention that it's in no particular order (except for the encores)? Yeesh, this was supposed to be a dream setlist as Erik said and these are the songs I want to hear! The slashes inbetween songs mean either one or the other... like I would want to hear either Damned OR My Guitar, Captain Crash OR Next 100 Years.

In no particular order:

Bed Of Roses (my all-time fav)
Wanted (must-have)
Lay Your Hands On Me (great song, good opener)
Raise Your Hands (gets the crowd going)
99 In the Shade (also a cool party song)
Livin' On A Prayer (must-have)
Living In Sin (love that song)
Get Ready (I love singing it while getting ready for school - would love to hear it live now!)
Keep The Faith (helped me through some hard times)
Tokio Road (would be pretty cool cuz noone's expecting that song)
My Guitar Lies Bleeding In My Arms (sounds GREAT live!)
Bounce (best song from Bounce)
Right Side Of Wrong (have heard that it's a great live song)
too short

Yes, but when you're at a gig and you've noticed that a ballad right after the opener won't work you'll think it's stupid. So why make a dream setlist that doesn't work ? If the order from the songs would've been different the setlist would be good.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan
okay you are right... I surrender.

13. These Days
14. Dry county (I would die in this moment )
15. Iīll be there for you

21. Always
22. My guitar lies bleeding in my arms
23. Never say goodbye
And if they would want to do a long concert...Bed of Roses, I believe, Blame it on the love of rock & roll, Bad medicine, Raise your hands, Right side of wrong, Thank you for loving me, Price of love, Neurotica, Stay, Another reason to believe...

I know that would be impossible, so... I repeat my setlist. It would be a great concert (especially if they wonder us performing Dry County), I think.

That's a bit stupid, considering that they are playing your dream setlist.

Salaam Aleikum? You are not being too kind....

I write it because Dry county (live) is my favourite song. I think you only want to discuss with me...

No I don't want to discuss that. Dry County is a good song, I've got nothing to discuss about that.

Ah...the possibilities...

Lay Your Hands on Me (with keyboard intro)
Raise Your Hands
Blood on Blood
Undivided
The Distance
Dead or Alive/Livin' On A Prayer (they'd sorta flow into each other)
Dry County
Always
Captain Crash and the Beauty Queen from Mars
Hook Me Up
Homebound Train
Everyday
Damned
Blaze of Glory

(Encore 1)
These Days
Bounce
Good Guys Don't Always Wear White

(Encore 2)
Runaway
A Little Bit of Soul
Keep the Faith (the Tampa 93 version)

Yeah, this setlist would never happen, but it would be great.
