Default Marie Claire int. w/ Jon

This was e-mailed to me. I don't know who to thank for taking the time to write it all out.

This month's Marie Claire magazine (October issue with Angelina Jolie on the cover) has a short interview with Jon on page 208.

Headed "Daddy Cool. Bon Jovi's new album BOUNCE is all about love,
life and fatherhood. So, has rock god Jon suddenly gone all soft and
gooey on us?"

You've just had your third child. You're obviously enjoying
fatherhood.
JBJ: "I guess so. Maybe four would be a good time to stop. My kids can get very protective when we go out. They don't like anyone taking up my time when I'm with them."

So, being away from home must be tough at times?
JBJ:"Yeah, but my family comes to visit when I'm on tour. My wife and I have been married for thirteen years - we met at high school. I don't think there's any, y'know, secret to a lasting relationship. It's just about being friends and being confident in yourself. A bit of independence is a good thing, too. I really admire the way my folks raised three kids. They made an honest living and still gave us the opportunity to dream."

Would you ever do the Ozzy Osbourne thing and make your own version of The Osbournes?
JBJ:"Definitely not. His life is far more entertaining than mine. I
don't think people would be too excitied by following me around for a
day. I love what Ozzy did. It's so endearing seeing how much he
loves his wife and kids in the middle of all that mayhem."

You've been around for nearly twenty years now. Do you ever cringe about the poodle perm and skintight jeans?
JBJ: "Ok, there were some fashion disasters. But I don't regret the hair, it was a part of who I am. I was 21 when I got my record deal; anyone looking back nineteen years would cringe at what they wore."

You guested on Ally McBeal recently. What was that like?
JBJ: "It was different, but not what I'd want to do forever. TV was boring compared to being a rock star. Calista Flockhart is great to work with on set, but I never even had a cup of coffee with her. I guess she's like everyone else - she does her job and then goes back to her real life."

Did you ever imagine you'd be this famous?
JBJ: "Never in my wildest dreams. I remember as a kid thinking; "Wow, wouldn't it be amazing if I'm still alive in 2000. Will I be married with kids? Will I still be making records?" And here I am. This is all a dream."
