Have you seen any other fanbase decrease other than the US market?! Nope thought not! That is why they worked with him no other reason.

Man, you can't be so RIGHT in just one post!

I absolutely agree with you!!!

At first when I heard that MM wrote songs for BSB, Britney, etc, I was a bit uneasy, myself. But it didn't make me like the song any less. And if people have a problem with Bon Jovi colaborating with MM, I read somewhere that MM wasn't as heavily involved with writing the song as Jon and Richie were.
when i was 17 i was listening to these Days which didn't include MM and rocked the hell out of me!

I strongly disagree. To say that no rock fans got started on Bon Jovi because of It's my life is an opinion. Had it not been for it's my life, i wouldn't even be here right now. I loved Kiss, Def Leppard, Aerosmith but was growing bored and before It's my life, i had hardly even heard of Bon Jovi. I was 16 then, and i play guitar, this "rocker" thing is complete bullshit! If it wasn't for that song, I wouldnt have bought all the albums, gone to 2 shows and spent x amount of dollers on the band. And I appreciate all the albums! So the band did their job well.

It was one song. Don't generalize and say Crush only appealed to pop fans. It's a pop/rock album, get over it.

But Bon Jovi aren't heavy metal, they never have been and never pretend to be.

Anyway, I like Crush, I know it isn't as good as SWW or NJ but I can cope with it.
Bon Jovi needed to bring out something that would appeal to a wider range of ages/music tastes. Ok, so if they'd have brought out another KTF or TD it would have still sold well, but they needed something that would bring the new fans in and get people back into Bon Jovi!

Bon Jovi have never been a heavy metal band. Ever.
If you want to listen to AC/DC that's fine but don't for a second compare AC/DC and Bon Jovi because Bon Jovi isn't making music like AC/DC. They can't. They wouldn't. It wouldn't be true to what Bon Jovi.
I've said it before. If the band is happy with teh music they make and they're able to sleep well at night and look at themselves in the mirror the next day, whatever we think matters not a stitch.
