You think those songs are pointless? You're missing the message then. Both of Jon's CDs have a lot to say.

I don't think ANY song is pointless--it obviously meant something to the person who wrote it. Just because a listener might not get it, whether it's too deep for them or just doesn't appeal to them, it doesn't mean the song has no meaning. Not only does a song have meaning to the writer, it takes on meaning to the listener by becoming associated with the listener's life in some way.

Art is subjective. It means something to someone, even if it doesn't mean something to everyone or the same thing to everyone.
