You think those songs are pointless? You're missing the message then. Both of Jon's CDs have a lot to say.
I don't think ANY song is pointless--it obviously meant something to the person who wrote it. Just because a listener might not get it, whether it's too deep for them or just doesn't appeal to them, it doesn't mean the song has no meaning. Not only does a song have meaning to the writer, it takes on meaning to the listener by becoming associated with the listener's life in some way.
Art is subjective. It means something to someone, even if it doesn't mean something to everyone or the same thing to everyone.

Erm, i didnt say Jons cds didnt have anything to say. I do think you were missing the point though. I replied to the question which was asked, which is my opinion. Some people may not agree while others may agree but at the end of the day it is my opinion, just like your opinion of Richie and his cds, you dont listen to them as you cant get into them.
Not every JBJ song has a hidden meaning, and i can safely say that Destination Anywhere doesnt associate with my life in any way shape or form.
