Lame!

Jon seems to be trying hard to gain some sort of "yeah, i'm a true rockstar" image...

- Said the original name he wanted for SWW was "GnR", named after a "little band he heard in L.A." Don't you mean you want to feed of the positive reputation that the name "GnR" has these days??
- Said on VH-1 "ultimate albums - SWW" that he hated the pink color of the original SWW cover (everyone in the 80's liked pink, don't lie about it)
- Now the drug thing??

Give me a break! Why would he admit this just now after all these years?

Maybe he's seeing that this image of country-cute-good-boy given by press nowadays (started at Oprah) is not good for his business.

oohhh the conspiracy.

I don't really think it's that callculated, yes it does sound like he is full of shit, and a lot of the times I can bet that he is, but still, I don't really think it's really a callculated move to be seen as a bad ass in interviews that are years apart.

he could never do that, after so many years of cashing in being the "nice" rock guy I highly doubt it.

What positive reputation? G'n'R these days is considered the biggest circus act joke around, it's Axl's thing. It does sound like he is pulling stories out of his ass every once in a while for whatever reason.

Well, I really don't know what to say about that, I was really to young in that time but I really ****ing hope my parents didn't dress me in any pink clothing as a baby!!!

Have no idea, but I highly doubt he wants this bad ass image just now after avoiding it all these years.

GnR IS a circus these days, you are absolutely right. I have all their leaked stuff from Chinese Democracy and it sounds like crap, not talking about the recording quality, talking about songwriting and it's not even close to the quality of the Velvet Revolver stuff, let alone the old GnR. But GnR built a great rep with their old stuff which will not easily get tarnished, that's why they are already considered legends... Appetite, Illusions? Hell yeah! Same with Metallica, the Crue, Aerosmith.

Why would he want the image? I dunno, but if you look at Motley Crue and you see how people can't get enough of their 80's drug tales (Heroin Diaries, The Dirt) and how that's actually giving them a positive (!) rockstar rep, than you can see how Jon is trying to get that attention with his "look at me, I used to sell drugs, look at me" thing... Please, I've drank this year more than Jon's drank his whole life! If one thing came out of the 80's, it was the definition of "RockStar". You say "Party like a RockStar" everyone thinks of HairBands and their drug and liquor habits. 80's were the wildest decade by far.

Jon has the good guy image and he should keep it that way. It was one of things I always admired the most about him. He wasn't a white trash wreck like Motley, Axl, Steven Tyler and many more were. His philantrophy inspired me to do good. On that note, I felt like I was gonna die running a 5K Race for the Cure last week!

Written by someone who clearly doesn't know the rock and roll history of the later 60's and 70's. Where do you think psychedelic music came from - certainly not alcohol LOL.

Jon is a boyscout in comparison.
