Default Miss Fourth Of July

This is probably one of my favourite songs by the band, I'm thinking now as I listen to it. Certainly one of their best ballads. The harmonies are great (though obviously Jon and Richie have nothing on Seb and I ) and I love the accordion on it. Great solo too.

Should've made Keep The Faith (if it was indeed recorded for that album)! Who needs I Want You (although everyone should check out the Bob Dylan song of the same name, incidentally), this would have been a great addition to the album. Sadly lost something live on the LH Tour because of Poncho's ****ing violin solo.

Top tune. Discuss.

Funny you bring it up, I was just listening to it earlier. One of my favorite tracks on the Box Set. I agree about the beautiful harmonies, and I love melancholy nature of the song.

Yeah it's a good song. Am I right in thinking it was a KTF outtake? They wrote so many awesome songs for that album. Any outtake from back then totally wipes the floor with the post 2000 stuff.

Y'know, I've never been able to get into this song.

I would say it's damn right boring, but I love Maybe Someday so who knows what' up...

Brilliant song, absolutely should have been on Keep The Faith. It could have replaced any of the songs on the latter half of the album. Unbelievable it wasnīt used back then. For me, itīs better than Bed Of Roses.

It has to be the right time. I love the song.... great lyrics and harmonies, but I can easily find it boring if I hear it when I'm in a mood that doesn't fit that. Laid back and melancholy would be called for. Next time you are doing a break up...pull this up.

I haven't listened to it in a while.

Completely agree this a great song that should have made the record. Would be an excellent choice for the acoustic set out on "the circle." Check out the version live from Atlantic City (2004). Incredible harmonies.

Love it, love it, love it!!
Having that "break" was the best thing for the band at the time (KTF). It really brought them back with some wonderful material.

I love this song as well - i know it obviously wasn't written for Bounce but i feel as if it would fit perfectly on that album = maybe in the place of "Joey" - je ne sais pas
