Default Misunderstood is better than the alternative...

hi,

i actually love this song for what it is...a catchy, easy-listening pop/rock song which the average radio listener will enjoy. Only fans of Bon Jovi would appreciate Hook Me Up, etc if released as a single.

Also, think about it, if not Misunderstood, then All About Lovin' You would've been chosen, and tho' this is a nice wee ballad, it's not a touch on Always or Bed of Roses or I Want You, and the media critics and every other non-diehard-fan would think the same. They'd all say "bon jovi just can't produce classics anymore...blah...blah..blah".

I know we don't care about these critics, but fact is ppl who think bon jovi are just "ok" will, and so misunderstood is better cos it won't get tiresome...All About Lovin' You starts to annoy me if i hear it too much!

Why ppl don't really like Misunderstood is beyond me, i love it's catchiness and the guitar is cool. Also, you can strum along to it and sound good - Hook Me Up you just can't sit with an acoustic guitar and play along!

just my thoughts.

I couldn't agree with you more. I was quite worried that we were going to get All About Loving You, which to me woud have been a big mistake.

I think the 3 slower songs on this album are the best of their type in years. I dont think Always is that far ahead of them, and certainly they are all way above Thank You for loving me, which was released. All about loving you is great, as is You had me from hello and Open All Night.

I think Thank you was a pretty nice song, though it is a little irritating. Just like Misunderstood and All about. In Misunderstood I don't like the "I" in the chorus, it just sounds bad. But, I have to agree, it's a better single than All about would have been, and it's also better than SIIS.

I hope they release Bounce as the third single, because it's the catchiest song of the lot. Even Bounce wouldn't be such a big hit that IML was, though...

Bon Jovi's best ballads are from These Days imho (and of course, the older ballads are great too - though I think I Want you is actually quite similar to the newer ballads, somehow). Crush and Bounce ballads are weak and maybe overproduced a little. These Days nailed it just right.
