Default Modern Drummer Interview Tico

Just noticed this was posted on the band's twitter - I'd imagine drummers will find in quite interesting.

There was one comment which I thought was strange, he says something along the lines of 'The album went number 1 which is great, we haven't had a number 1 record in years!'

Trying to forget about Lost Highway & The Circle

Here's a link for those who don't want to have to search for it.

Just watched it and enjoyed it. I thought that was a weird statement too. Maybe he was thinking about the Greatest Hits not hitting #1. I found the interviewer hard to understand at times. He needs to speak more clearly.

I still find it odd that he now uses DW drums and not Pearl. He's used Pearl forever.

Why is it that Tico (and David too) always seem to have a great attitude and are enthusiastic? At least it doesn't come across as phony enthusiasm or forced enthusiasm. Tico genuinely seems to enjoy what he does - despite the repetition.

Maybe because they rarely get an opportunity to let their voices be heard and probably relish it when it happens? Also, as these moments seem to be few and far between, they're obviously much less on autopilot compared to Jon and Richie.

I love that man. He made me want to play drums and it's through watching him that I still like to. His enthusiasm and happiness when playing is just a great sight. And it helps that he's ****ing brilliant, too.

Yes, I'm sure that has a lot to do with it. Tico especially seems to have a cheerful attitude though. It's nice to see him enthusiastic about a new set of drums

That is super strange. Something odd must have happened there. He used to properly endorse Pearl. Very strange he moved to DW. Had no idea actually, the kit still looks like the Pearl kit he had on a previous tour.

In any case, would love to see an entire show of Tico drumming away. He's such a powerhouse. His drumming has stalled in recent years becoming dull and completely unspectacular. But his live energy and power just makes it worthwhile. Those images just prove it.
