I don't really know much about the drumming world other than it looks like THE most fun and also lots of physical hard work night after night. But watching Tico drum will always put a smile on my face. That final clip there with Thats What The Water Made Me is superb!

Well he did say that he was looking for a deep sound with more attack on top and Pearl couldn't offer him that. So he's either doing it for sound reasons or DW offered him more money to endorse them.

It is strange seeing him play on another kit..

Yeah I heard that - but it's a bit strange, 30 years into your career, isn't it? Must be a money/ endorsement thing.

I admit I posted that before watching. Should have went back and edited it!

Definitely. I remember seeing him use Pearl on the Japanese broadcast from Tokyo in 1985

Or maybe he needs a "deeper" sound because now that he's not older, just old, he needs drums that he doesn't have to hit as hard!

But seriously, folks, I still have a copy of the first Modern Drummer that Tico made the cover of in 1990. I purchased it in a chic midtown Manhattan bookstore -- that is, I had to purchase it because I was so pleased, I yelled, "Well, it's about $%@^ time!"

Tico is so cool! If there's one member of Bon Jovi that I'd love to sit down and have a beer with it would be him, he's brilliant, plays for the song, enjoys what he does and does it with style and grace. And cool, lot's and lot's of cool!

I wonder when they will post part 2 and 3? I looked on the site and youtube, but don't see them.

That probably has something to do with it. He obviously can't hit as hard as he used to.

Very cool interview and Tico always looks like he's having so much fun behind his kit.

Same with David that you can see bopping around in the background.

As for why he changed, if he did it in the middle of the tour I'm inclined that it might be something to do with the sound or action as he says.

Endorsement wise I doubt they're throwing tonnes of money at him but they probably gave him the kit for nothing.
