Were Pantera even around in 85/86? I can't imagine a heavy metal band performing a slushy ballad like Never Say Goodbye!
Pantera was formed in 1983. This is what I found from the net. "We wrote this one initially for trash metal band Pantera, but we turned this one in a ballad" - Richie Sambora

I didn't know about the Panterra connection. Very... unexpected.

Anyway, myguitar, I'm sorry someone you obviously admired was killed. I'm not much of a metal fan, even less so of satanic orientated bands like Panterra. I'd never even heard of the guy till this happened. You have to accept his death means, to a lot of people, just another murder, another victim of a society spiralling hopelessly out of control. I say "just another murder" in it's loosest possible meaning, as every innocent person killed ****s me off and saddens me more than you'll ever know.

Bon Jovi obviously had a passing connection with them, but that was 18+ years ago. As others have said, Metallica et al had active relationships with him. If they did post something on their site, among other things, I can see Seb and others like him posting crap and trying to make them look bad for doing so. Everyone knows what happened, and is grieving in their own way if he meant something to them. One more band writing RIP Dimebag on their site isn't going to mean much.

First of all, Pantera started out as a hard rock band, just like Bon Jovi. And this:

... is just sad. Do you have any idea what you're talking about? Satanic? You're probably one of those people that say KISS means "kids in satan's service". Don't mistake bands using the word "satan" as being satanistic.

Ice, you have only proved one of my points, and that is how little I know or understand about Panterra and metal in general. It's just not my thing. A casual glance at their album and song titles does lead you to believe they are satanic, but if they are in fact not then I apologise most humbly.

Don't apologize, educate yourself. But don't judge if you don't know.

You never cease to amaze me. I misunderstand the situation, apologise when justly called out on, and yet you're demanding I educate myself about a band and style of music I don't like? Gimme a break. I am hot tempered, foul mouthed and not afraid to express my opinion, but I also am humble enough to admit when I'm wrong, as I was here. Don't ****ing tell what to do you arrogant snot nosed brat.

You know, if ur gonna throw rocks its a good start to *know* at least a bit about the target, so to speak. Wouldn't ya agree, Justice?

IMO....better to read, listen & learn on before pointing fingers. Foul mouthed? So is Andy & its generally approved that people can throw shite at him because of his behaviour, so I guess it's very welcome to do the same to people like u as well

Excuse me, but what rocks am I throwing? All I said was I don't like metal generally, particularly satanic related stuff, and therefore hadn't the least bit of comprehension who Dimebag was. If you are implying I meant he deserved to die because he's a satanist then I'm afraid that's only your failure to understand basic English at work. I meant no such thing, and I politely request you stop putting words in my mouth. Once again I am forced to be put in the ridiculous position of QUOTING MYSELF.

Yep. You don't need to apologize to me, you need to educate yourself.

Ooh, I'm shaking. Still, go read something about satanism, metal music and Pantera before sharing your judgemental values.

Don't post if you don't kow anything about the subject. And I'm sure you're much more the "snot nosed brat", after all, it's you who's posting crap about bands you don't know and insulting others.
