You're a friggin' jackass Ice, you really truely are. I'm not posting crap about Panterra or Dime and you damn well know it. And I'm insulting others?!? You started this crap you flaming retard! What did you expect me to say? Oh yes King Iceman, I shall do as your will commands! Not in this life time or any other. You come at me with an attitude and you will get it back in spades.

I THOUGHT I knew Panterra was a satanic band. They called one of their albums "Cowboys from Hell" for ****'s sake. I didn't make any judgement one way or the other. They could've been angels incarnate, and I'd still have not liked their music and would not have listened to them and generally not given them much thought. It had absolutely jackshit to do with the primary point of my post. I ain't gonna "educate" myself. To paraphrase one of the lines from that puke enducing ego inflater that is the script in your sig, you've mistaken me for someone who gives a crap. I don't. Would you do the same if the situation was reversed? Of course you wouldn't. ****ing deal with it, and stop trying to start shit with your brain-damaged four year old like interpretations of my posts.

You're the one who posted they were satanic. You, no one else.

Yes.

Show me. Quote me where I started this, where I insulted you. You're the one calling people retards, not me.

Sounds good to me. You could've just gone and study a bit so you wouldn't appear so ignorant the next time. But I see you're happy with not knowing about things.

You're the one with the attitude. I couldn't give a rats ass about what you think of me. You were wrong, I corrected you. You got mad. That's very sensible and adult of you.

Yeah, I think we all know that by now. And it's "Pantera", only one "r".

Calling someone satanic IS a judgement.

Well, it just goes to show that you're one of those people who post without knowing anything about the subject and when being told they're wrong, they loose it. I really don't care what you think, just as long you're not posting stuff you know nothing about.

Do what? No, I wouldn't post about a band being satanic, I would go and learn more first. As to me answering you, its only to see how much longer your pathetic rants with personal insults are going to last. You're making it quite clear who's the one with brain-damage. You're saving me a lot of trouble on that one.

Your high and mighty, holier-than-thou attitude is all through your posts and if you had the slightest clue about people you'd know coming at someone with an attitude like that is about as insulting as it gets. I even had the decency to apologise and you still insist on acting like a prat and trying to tell me what to do.

Maybe in your tight-assed view of the world calling somebody Satanic is a judgement but it's not in my book. I'm not that close minded. It's not worth a moment's thought. Few people who consider themselves Satanic truely are, nor do many of them have the slightest real comprehension of what it means. Talk is one thing, action is another. I can think of at least three people I've known who considered themselves Satanists. One's an English guy and his wife who I talk with frequently on my private forum, the other was guy I knew since I was 5 till I lost track of him when I left high school at age 17. I'd call both good people who I always had a good time hanging around with/talking to.

I have no attitude. All I said was you're wrong.

Apologize to whom? Me? Why? Like I said, don't apologize, go educate yourself. If you don't know, learn. Don't apologize. That doesn't get you anywhere. And I didn't act like a prat, you did.

Okay, you're satanic then. From now on, you're satanic, ok?

Including you, I see.

What has this got to do with anything? If you're not satanic, being called one is usually an insult, no matter what you may think.

This statement illustrates the huge problem you have more than you'll ever know.

Like I said, don't apologize
You may not apologise when you're proven wrong, but I do. Call me soft. I even did a search on the net and skimmed over a few lyrics sheets, forum threads and interviews. Some of the lyrics are actually very good, very thought provoking, and you're correct that they are not Satanic.

And you're an ice monster from the planet Pluto, OK? Grow up.

I have made absolutely no factual statements about Satanism at all, so you have no grounds for making this statement. In actual fact I have been studying occult and supernatural matters to various degrees since I was a kid. I have read books on ghosts, poltergeists, demonic possession, satanism and people's varying interpretations of it with regards to some of the above mentioned phenomena and it's potential significance in various criminal cases, the works.

Then I apologise for doing so. It was not my intention to insult Pantera or Dimebag.

Oh... wait...

Well, if being called satanic isn't an insult, then you might as well be called one, right?

There is nothing "satanic" about Pantera! They are about as much "satanic" as Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, Britney Spears and... you name it.... They sing a bit more "angrier" than Jovi and your regular rock bands. Just like Metallica, Pantera sung about the injustice and about personal things in life. Read their lyrics and you'll see. Nothing bad there. I am a Christian and I am very comfortable listening to Pantera. I am not comfortable listening to Slayer on the other hand because they write occult lyrics and I don't like that. The music just has no meaning. But as far as Pantera and metal bands overall.... Open your mind and get informed about what "satanic" means!

Pantera originally started as a glam metal band (like Jovi) in 1985-ish. They had three underground albums that didn't do that well... cause they were underground. Then they turned to better music in 1990 when they released "Cowboys from Hell" and Dime instantly became the top guitarist to come out after Eddie Van Halen. What a tone... That guy knew guitar and he knew how to make it sound excellent. I highly doubt that Bon Jovi did "Never Say Goodbye" for Pantera, even though they were a glam band in 1985-1986. Pantera was not yet big at all so Bon Jovi wouldn't have made any profit from giving a song to an unknown undergound band. They did "Social Disease" for Aerosmith but ended up keeping it. I'd love to hear Steven Tyler do that song though, it would sound awesome.

Dime was a great man, very compassionate, funny, cartoonish. He was all that a "satanic man" (Justice!) would never be. And being that he was a Texan and came from a COUNTRY MUSIC FAMILY I can definitely assume that he was born and raised Christian. His father, Jerry Abbot, was a legendary country music songwriter and producer. He probably turned more Christian recently since he's been spending time with ZAKK WYLDE and DAVE MUSTAINE. Yeah, two people who openly express their faith in their music. Megadeth just did a "cover" of "Psalm 23" on their new album. The name of the song is "Shadow of Deth" but the lyrics are all Psalm 23, unedited, untampered.

Just to let you know, some other musicians have written responses, many that you wouldn't expect. Here is who had stuff to say:

MICHELLE BRANCH (Who got to meet him and spend time with him very recently)
Nikki Sixx
Kip Winger (Who's life was saved by Dime - a very "satanic" thing to do)
Poison
Warrant
Nine Inch Nails
BRIAN MAY of QUEEN
KEITH AND MICK of a lil' band called THE ROLLING STONES (also "satanic")
Judas Priest
ZZ TOP (fellow Texans like Pantera)

Rest in Peace Dime!!!!!!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everone on the board!!

(To everyone who is not a filthy satanist!!!)

Back to the subject at hand. I've never known BJ to publicly (ie on their website) say anything about anyone passing. I don't think that it means they don't care it's just that if they had a personal relationship they would keep it personal just as they did when that person was alive. If askede about it in interviews and such, the guys would probably ackowledge the tragedy that this murder was. For whatever reasons no one deserves to die this way. Everyone has their own way of dealing with things BJ has always struck me as preferring to keep things private. The music world is a big place, scattered all over the world, maybe they met eons ago but that doesn't mean they knew each other. The artists you mentioned were obviosly friends of his, it would seem strange if they did not say something. Plus the fact that it must be a fear alot of performers have, some nut job, doesn't like what you do so they show up at a show to make you "pay" for some supposed betrayal of them. Sick and wrong, some people are just sick and wrong.

Now actually I have some interview with Richie talking about bands like Pantera and Metal Church and he says he is very impressed by Dime's playing. He even said something about having met each other and being friendly

Well, RIP Dime!
