I think as well it will depend on what's big at the time .... Jon does have a slight tendency to jump on a good bandwagon / get inspired by new music (delete as you see fit).

If there's a hard rock resurgence, maybe we'll see a new Bon Jovi hard rock album. I really thought there was going to be a proper hard rock resurgence around 2004, but most of the bands from that time seem to have faded into obscurity or split. Mind you, with Def Leppard and Motley Crue releasing more "back to roots" albums, and an Aerosmith one in the pipeline, maybe BJ will get back to that again ... after all, at least LH has proper guitar solos, so they've stepped in the right direction. Guess only time will tell

... Or maybe they'll just go all Duffy on us

! I hope Jon isn't reading. He definitely doesn't need an idea like that!

I dunno, the times when they've done solo albums has been when they've changed their sound the most. Keep The Faith was like a cross between the hard rock of Blaze and the blues of Stranger, whereas Crush shared its pop elements with both DA and US (whether or not that was a good change in sound is down to your own opinion, I guess). So I reckon if they took a break and did some solo albums, they'd have a better idea of what sound they want to go for next time round, rather than rushing into it

Ok
I don’t want a new version on NJ or SWW just something along the lines of the energy and quality of song.
It’s a fact that BJ were bigger here than in the US around the KTF, TD time but that has switched back to them being bigger in the US again – do the Americans prefer the later day Jovi compared to early Jovi?
Not 1 album since TD has sold over 250,000 copies in the UK (yes I’ve seen the proof) and now the gigs aren’t selling out anymore (could be to do with too many dates or the credit crunch?)
SWW, NJ and TD sold nearly a million each and crossroads sold 2.5 million.
The last 3 BJ albums havent gone to number 1 in the album charts (and how easy is that these days? No pun) so people are getting bored with Jovi and want something of better quality than the last few albums

It is a good point, but to be fair LH would of easily sailed to number 1 if they released it a week before or week after! it sold 80,000 copies in its first week (25,000 more than HAND) 20,000 more than the average UK no.1 album, but unfortunely Traveling Willburys released their greatest hits that week and just beat it!
