No, Jon is not ready to stop making music. In fact, the subject of stopping making music wasn't even broached!

Jon talked with exhuberance about making music and the recording of TLFR and the steps it took to get there (Japan, other acoustic shows, then bringing in Pat Leonard). He talked about how fulfilling it is as a songwriter to have the songs stand up and the lyrics come through in a different light.

He talked about family--they don't know the gender of the baby because it's "one of the few surprises in life" and they never ask ahead of time.

He talked a little about the Parker Family Clinic and politics/health care. He said he hoped that the idea could be extended in NJ and the rest of the country.

He said he wanted to do more movies after the football season and talked about the football team. He told how he never had any real interest in acting until he did Young Guns and said he would do more acting, but his committment is to the band. He also talked about it being a multimillion dollar investment and something where he could make or loose a lot of money, but that wasn't the issue. He loves the game and the accessabilty of the AFL--talked about how the team is getting out in the community. They lost the scrimmage last week by one touchdown.

He was asked about how the band gets along and said they all get along really well and that even though some bands do well with tension, that's not their style.

There was absolutely NOTHING in this interview that suggested he was ready to stop making music!

The msnbc website will post a transcript soon.
